Daijah

The cramps were killing me while I tossed and turned in bed. They weren't labor pains because I had experienced those before but I could not sleep.

"Be still." Capo mumbled when I decided to get out of the bed, walking down to the kitchen.

"Baby why you gotta be so hard on momma?" I rubbed my belly as I leaned against the kitchen counter. I looked at the clock and it was only eleven.

"Dammit." I groaned and looked in the pantry, stealing the kids snacks.

"What's wrong with you?" The groggy voicre asked and I damn near had this baby.

"Shit. I can't sleep. Cramps." He chuckled a little and I threw a Cheeto at him.

"Don't play with food. There's kids in Africa starving." He giggled.

"I'm so ready to have this baby." I rolled my eyes.

"Yep. So you can pop out another one." He was dead ass serious.

"Hell no. I'm getting my tubes tied. Two is enough." I informed him and he just waved me off.

"Go to sleep Day." His eyes got a little heavy before he headed upstairs. I finished the chips and went up, attempting to go back to sleep but it didn't work.

"This is bullshit." I flipped on my back.

"Capo." I whined as I tried to shake him back to life.

"What girl?" He was frustrated and so was I.

"Can you rub my belly or talk to the baby?"

"No." He turned over and I punched him in his back.

"Bit- you know you hit like a nigga. Quit that shit."

"I hate you." I pouted.

"You wanna go to the hospital?" He rolled over, laying his head on my thigh.

"No. I told you what I want." Her shrugged and went back to sleep, grazing his thumb on my thigh.

"Stop Cameron." I pushed him off me.

"You actin like a little girl." He smacked his lips.

"Deal with it." I kicked my legs as a cramp hit me.

"Yo chill." He chuckled. I turned on the TV and decided to watch Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood.

My eyes got heavy but I couldn't doze off for shit. I laid down and turned the TV back off, laying down.

"Never having kids again." I said as my bladder had got the best of me and I headed to the bathroom.

"Oh shit." I shook my head and smiled as my water had broke, on the toilet.

"Cameron!!" I screeched but tried not to wake up Lyric.

"What the fuck do want?" He gritted, rubbing his eyes and leaning on the wall.

"My water broke." He stayed calm and grabbed the ready bag, Lyric, the keys, while I slowly made my way downstairs.

"We aint practice home birth so imma need you to just walk a little bit faster." He fake smiled, wide awake now.

"This shit hurts so shut the fuck up." I rolled my eyes as I scooted towards the garage, getting in the car.

"Mommy where we going?" Lyric propped herself up as I controlled my breathing.

"To the hospital so we can meet your new little brother." I smiled, wiping beads of sweat from my forehead.

"But it's in your stomach." She was highly confused.

"Baby just sit back and go back to sleep." I gripped the door handle and stared at the red light we were sitting at.

"Oh hurry the fuck up!" I was very upset.

"Can I help you?" The woman smiled.

"Bitch I'm in labor. What the fuck it look like?" I paced slowly.

"OK. Please sit and we'll take you up to labor and delivery." She pulled up a wheel chair but I just walked.

"Why you gotta give these people such a hard time?" He held back his laugh.

"Cause she acting like a fucking bozo. Why the fuck else would a pregnant bitch be up here at twelve in the fucking morning?"

"Day chill." He smiled out while I still followed the woman to a room.

"Nice to see you again miss Daijah." I looked up from the sound of the familiar voice. I rolled my eyes at doctor as he chuckled.

"What's up with that guy?" Jealous boasted through Capo's voice.

"That's the doctor I went on a date with. He's delivering this baby too I think."

"Oh hell nah. They gone have to find you another doctor."

"Man calm the hell down. I'm having a baby, that's not a condition of vagina that a guy would get turned on by, well at least I hope not." I laid on the bed and changed before the nurse checked for any dilations but there were none.

"Mommy, how is the baby going to get out?" Lyric hopped up and down next to me. She was full of energy.

"Ask your daddy." I fought the cramps.

"Daddy how does..." She trailed off as I closed my eyes, relaxing.

"Miss, do you want any epidural?"

"Umm, no." My eyes popped open as a pain shot through me, head to toe.

"This is going to be a long ass birth." I looked over at Capo and Lyric sitting down, watching Netflix.

They laughed and I smiled at them two, looking identical.

"How far?" I raised my head up as the nurse made a measurement.

"2." Shit.
