**Vic's POV**

The next day, I decided to give the basement another try.

I tugged and pulled at the handle with all of my strength. Then pushed it with full force, just to check if I wasn't trying to open it the wrong way. Because I could totally be stupid like that. But the door didn't budge.

"I need to get myself a fucking axe or some shit." I muttered as I scratched the back of my head. How could a door honestly be this stuck? I figured that something had to be down there.

Let's hope it's not a fucking body.

Jaime's words echoed through my head.

I sighed and shook my head, as if I wanted to shake the words from my ear. This all felt so strange and unreal. And of course it was. Who'd ever thought that all those horror movies about ghosts and spirits were real? I was relieved though that it wasn't a Poltergeist kind of ghost or spirit. Or one from that really bad movie... what was it again?

Paranormal Activity?

The hairs in my neck stood upward. Thank god it wasn't like that.

Besides the total creepy smack on my ass, the ghost hadn't exactly intentionally hurt me or vandalized the place. In fact, he had helped me stock my cupboards, put things back in place in the bathroom...

The gypsy woman had described him as confused, stressed and unaware of his passing.

It actually made me feel kind of sorry for him.

Suddenly my phone rang, pulling me from my thoughts. It was Jaime. I grabbed my phone from the table and answered the call. "Hey, what's up?" I asked.

"I'm amazing, I'm simply amazing." Jaime pointed out, sounding completely satisfied with himself.

I let out a soft laugh. Whenever Jaime started like this, he was sure to have some kind of plan to which he thought was absolutely brilliant. "Please, elaborate." I suggested, trying not to sound all too skeptical.

"I've done some digging on your friendly ghost roommate, Casper... and, trust me, you're going to want to hear this."

I felt hopeful. I knew about how Jaime had connections basically everywhere. So if he said he had something, he definitely had something.

"I'm all ears."
