"Quickly! We must find them."

My footsteps echoed through the staircase as we ran towards the Weapons Lab, Christina and Uriah right behind me.

I'm not supposed to be here. Caleb already unleashed the memory serum and everyone in the Bureau forgot everything. After a few pleasant months with Tris, Kat and Zeke someone else threatened to destroy our peace, this time, targeting me. In this last attempt to stop the mystery behind the psycho who tried to hurt us, something went wrong. Both Kat and Tris were supposed to assist with the development of the plan, but after a long time, they didn't show up.

"We're almost there, come on!" I said as I turned left and entered the corridor that leads s to the weapons lab. I stopped dead in my tracks. Chained unconsciously to wall were my sister and Tris, between us there was a glass panel, prohibiting pass and breaking all hope of reaching them, and in the middle there was a single gun, with one bullet of the side.

"Finally, look who's here. Took you long enough, didn't it Four. Or should I say, Tobias Eaton?" Said a voice I hadn't heard in a long time.

"Jeanine. I thought you were in prison."

I can almost see her smiling, that cold, calculating smile. "Yes, I was. Until Evelyn set me free. She said I wasn't worth her time."

I looked back at the bodies on the wall. I could see both of them breathing. I let out a sigh of relief; at least they're not dead. But that didn't ease the pressure in my chest. There's something wrong here.

Then Uriah and Christina entered the room, and their eyes widened. "What is going on?" exclaimed Uriah.

"He must shoot one of them." She was probably staring down at us, her eyes analyzing our every move, reaction. A knot builds up in my throat. I can't. I can't kill the one I love. I can't. As I struggle for air I say; "What happens if I don't?

"They both die." She is smiling right now. She is wickedly enjoying this.

I ran to the glass panel and start hitting it. I must break it; I must do something to save them both. I let out a scream. "No. No! I... No!"

"You see Tobias; doesn't this remind you of your fear landscape? Shooting an innocent? It's the same thing, just a task you must complete, the only difference being the fact that none of them are innocents." I yell one more time. This time I grabbed the gun, put the bullet in and pointed to the ceiling. My breathing was faster and deeper, stronger. I was struggling to breathe. I can't.

"Tobias?" Her voice. Tris. I look at her. She looks like she just woke up. She tried to move her arms, which were chained above her head. When she realized, she looked at me, those blue-grey eyes I love wide and alert. She started to look around the room, checking, calculating, and analyzing everything, trying to find the most logical answer t the problem.

"Tris? Tris, hang on. I... I'll find a way to save both of you."

"You can't" Said Jeanine, her voice clear and proud. Psycho bitch. "Take your time; the outcome will be the same. Let's wake up the other girl"

Something, an electric current or something, shaked her awake. She winced and screamed. "Kat!" Uriah ran and stood next to me, tense and alert. I forgot they were here.

"Tobias! What's going on? Uriah! Shit, Tris. Are you okay?" She looks worried. I am worried.

"I'm okay Kat, calm down. Tobias, listen to me. Shoot me. Save your sister." Suddenly everything went quiet. I opened my mouth to say something but nothing came out. She stared at me, her whole face looking calm and sure, but her eyes, those beautiful eyes, full of energy, terrified.

"No Tris." I say, but it comes weaker than I hoped for. "Wait, let me think about something."

"Tobias, there's no way out of this." A sob escaped her mouth "Please, keep her alive. I know you; you won't be able to live with yourself if you let her die." The tears streamed down her face, mimicking mine. "It's okay." She smiled "I'm not giving up, and neither should you. Okay? I love you, I love you so much. Please, stop them. This can't continue. Also..." Her eyes glazed little. "Please, don't resent me. Help me leave behind something as a good memory. And... Thank you."

I grabbed the gun with both hands, my whole body shaking. Tears clouded my vision as I aimed up at her head. If I'm going to kill her, I'm taking away her pain.

"Tobias don't! There must be another way out." My sister pleaded. She was bawling right now. Tris is right, I can't let her die.

That's when realization hit me; there isn't a way out. Jeanine planned this with the purpose of torturing us. All of us. Behind me Christina and Uriah were crying, but all I could see were those bright blue eyes staring right at me. The fierceness in them was burning my soul.

"You will prevail. I will never forget you. I will never resent you. I'll forget all the wrong that you've done. I will still love you. I'm sorry." A sob escaped me.

She smiled sadly at me, her bright eyes softening. "It's okay. Thank you."

The gun went off and I fell to my knees.
