It has been a long and anticipated week. I'm beyond excited to get my, sorry, our puppy soon and the concert is today, but I'm still not too sure how I feel about having to see Tyler again.

I've been talking with Josh to try and work out details for today, and he wants me to be there for around three. Well, technically Derrick and I will be there for noon, but I didn't really tell Josh that Derrick is coming. Actually, I haven't really told Josh who Derrick is yet.

After we had breakfast and finished cleaning up, I went upstairs to get myself ready. Derrick, who would probably just throw on a black t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers, would be on the couch until five minutes before we had to leave to get ready.

I decided to curl my hair in more defined curls than the waves they've been in lately. My white collared blouse and dark jeans with white vans were all on and after packing my small satchel with my wallet and enough money for a tee shirt maybe, and my phone, I was ready to go.

"Derrick, you can get ready now." I called as I went down the stairs, grabbing a water bottle from the fridge before I slid my car keys off of the counter and into my hands.

"Okay, I'll be right down." He walked through the kitchen past me and upstairs to get changed. After a couple of minutes, he came back down the stairs, wearing exactly what I'd predicted he would wear.

"You all set?"

"I am indeed." He shoved his wallet and phone into his pocket, and we got into the car and started on our way.

The whole car ride, I couldn't even process what I was thinking, I was absolutely petrified under my excitement for the show. I couldn't believe that I was going to see Josh and Tyler after all of these years. What was I going to say to him? The thought of having to actually make words to him made me feel like I was going to vomit, but there was no possible way for me to get away with saying nothing to him.

I was so lost in my thoughts that I hadn't even noticed that we were pulling into the parking lot of the venue. We took my car, but Derrick drove into the lot and parked where Josh told me we could park to most efficiently get to where they would be.

And there he was when we got out of the car, standing at the door and waiting for us. He was on his phone, probably texting someone or on whatever, before he looked up and saw that we had been walking towards him. His face lit up, which made my face light up, and we both just ran towards each other and hugged really tightly like in those silly reunion movies.

"It's so great to have you here!" He yelled, even though I was right in front of him, now that we broke our embrace. I turned back and Derrick was now within a few feet away from us.

"Josh, there's someone that I want you to meet." I waited until Derrick was just about next to me. "Josh, this is Derrick, Derrick, this is Josh."

"Pleasure to meet you Derrick," Josh said, reaching out and shaking his hand.

"The pleasure is mine, thank you for having us here. We're very excited." Josh smiled hearing that we were looking forward to their show.

And now for the words I wasn't really sure how to say tonight, "Derrick and I are engaged, we met while I was at Yale, but we didn't start seeing each other until a couple of years ago." I could see the shock and fear in Josh's eyes at the word engaged, but all I could hope for was that Derrick couldn't.

"Well, I hope to be getting an invite some time soon, congratulations you two." Josh smiled, choking back whatever it was that he was thinking. "Come on in, we just wrapped up our soundcheck." He held open the door for Derrick and I to walk in. There were lots of people and lots of equipment backstage, but we followed Josh and maneuvered our way through until we got to the one place I didn't exactly want to be.
