A small well-built wooden lodge stood in the distance. Large logs are stacked to make each wall, the door and roof made of smooth, thin planks, along with some stairs that looked like they were built by a professional. Surrounding the lodge stood long, thin pine trees; pine cones spread across the floor like leaves during autumn.
Soft giggles are heard from inside the small lodge, wind blowing in through the gaps under the door.
"Okay, okay- Do it again?!". Both boys laughs, Jackson put his hand under his arm. Moving his arm up and down, it made nosies similar to a fart. Jamie burst out laughing, laying back as he kicked his legs, Jackson laughing along. "How do you do that!?- It's weird!" Jamie wipes a little tear off his cheek as he giggled. "Well, its all in the-", Jackson was interrupted when a tall lad with thick brown hair came into the lodge.
He wore brown jeans, torn at the knee; A dark leather jacket that was open, showing his slim, tanned chest and stomach. He held a long, sharp-ended spear that had feathers on its neck. The tall browned haired lad looked down at them, his face held more emotion than his pride. "What the hell do you think you're doing?! The hunters have found us!".
"What?" Jamie spoke as his eyes widen, rushing to his bed. He took out a small knife, staring at the blade.
Jackson looks at Jamie, his breathing becoming heavy due to fear. "W-what- what do i do? I-i can't fight!"
"It's true Jake! Jackson can't fight, he's only just got here!" Jamie looked to the older boy. Jake had sighed in frustration, gripping his spear as he growls to himself. "That doesn't matter, we all have to protect the camp! Give him a weapon". Jamie's face saddened, handing jackson a small knife. "We fight, we protect". Jackson looks to Jamie, his eyes watering. "I-I can't- I'm useless", Jamie laid his hand on his shoulders, "Don't worry, we can fight together...We'll protect each other!". Jackson nods, shivering in fear, by Jamie's words encouraged him. He grips the knife, "We'll fight", "We'll protect" Jamie finished. Both boys raised their knives, "WE'LL FIGHT TOGETHER!!"
Jake, Jamie and Jackson charged into camp, looking around.
Men on horses ride around in the dark, holding small lights that bled with light. Dust rises from the ground, blocking the sight of any young boy. The hunters scream with laughter, catching every boy they seek to find. Boys getting caught with nets scream for help, some getting shot down like rag dolls.
All their eyes widen in fear, Jake stepping back. "We don't stand a chance! There's too many of them! Even more than the last attack". Jake yelled running to the others, "Alright! Everyone into the woods we'll try to lose them!" They began to run towards the dark woods.
Suddenly, Jamie stopped. He looked back at the camp, seeing another boy needed help. Jackson screams just echoed in his ear, "Jamie! Jamie! What are you doing?". Jamie looked at jackson before running to help the boy. "Jamie!!", Jackson attempted to run for him, but jake only pulled him back. "Don't be a fool!". Jake picks him up, running into the bushes.
Silence, it was the only thing that flooded the camp. The boy came crawling out of the bush, staring at the dust that filled the scene. Jackson stumbled out the bush, looking around for Jamie. In the corner of his eye, he spotted a figure. He smiled as he ran towards the figure, "Jamie!". Jake noticed, reaching out his arm, "N-no wait!!". Jackson's smile grew as he ran closer, "Jamie!".
He stopped, staring at the hunter who looked down at him with a wide grin. He man lit a cigar, chuckling "Found you~". He raised his shotgun at Jackson; Jackson's eyes widen as he stepped back.
The hunter chuckles darkly again, his finger on the trigger,"Jackson! No!". Jackson was pushed away as the loud gun-shot spilled across the camp.
Jackson coughs, looking towards the hunter. Jamie stood in front of the hunter, holding his chest as blood spilled. "Jamie!!" Jackson screamed, running toward them. The hunter pointed his gun at Jackson once again, "Lights out!". Before he took the shot, Jake slammed the spear into his head. "You bastard!" Jake yelled, the hunter dropped to the ground, dead.
Jackson looked to Jake before running to Jamie, who had dropped to the ground. "Jamie!", He knelt beside his best friend, putting pressure onto the wound. Tears run down both their dusty cheeks, jackson desperately crying for a answer, "Jamie!? Speak too me! P-please!".
Jamie's eyes open faintly, "J-jamie?". Jackson spoke softly as Jamie laid his hand on jackson bloody hand, smiling faintly. "It's o-okay-", Jamie coughs as he spoke. "I'm gonna be okay.. I-i'm going to that place.." He coughs again, "That place in the sky, d-do you know- it?". Jackson shook his head, "No, No! You're staying here! With us!".
Frowns appear all around as they spoke.
Jamie gave one last heavenly smile before slowly closing his eyes,"I'll always- remember you". Those were his last words before he drifted off to his finally rest.
"Jamie?" Jackson shook his body gently, tears running down his face. "Jamie! Please! Don't go!". His tears drip down onto Jamie's cold cheek. "Please! Jamie!"
Everyone bowed their heads, staring at the wooden crosses that stuck out the ground. Jackson's head, was the lowest.
He held a bouquet of sapphire flowers in his hand, soon laying them down in front of Jamie's cross. As the thunder stormed closer, Jackson looked up to the sky. "Jamie, i know revenge isn't what you want- But, i'll soon find who's responsible and make them pay. That's a promise, my dear friend~"
