The rays of sun light flew through the window, the warmth touching the tiny feet of a young boy. The boy had midnight black hair, soft tanned skin and a personality not like the other kids around. He flickered opened his ocean blue eyes, staring at the soft round yellow bird beside him. Its button eyes stared back like a hawk watching it's prey. The boy blinked before rubbing his tired eyes.

The young boy rubs his eyes until he was wide awake. The rays of light tickled his tiny toes, he wiggled them and giggled. Finally after a few minutes of trying to wake himself up, the little one leaps out of bed. Stumbling, to the door...stopping, he looking back at the teddy on his bed. He quickly leaped onto the bed, grabbing the yellow bird; then ran back towards the door.

Tip toeing past his sisters room, the young boy waited for the smell of pancakes. The smell hitting him in the face as he walks into the kitchen. A tall woman with long black hair and a pink silky dress stood by the counter; flipping mini pancakes in the frying pan. Slowing walking towards her, he softly spoke "Morning mother." Looking at him in surprise, she gently ruffles his soft, black hair "Morning, Jackson... Sleep well?." Jackson giggled and smiled gently up at her, "Yeah, I didn't have a bad dream last night. This teddy April made scared them away." She looks at the yellow bird in Jackson's small arms, smiling small before going back to cooking the breakfast. Jackson looks at the yellow bird. "I love this teddy, it's my only friend", he cuddles it and smiled widely once he closed his eyes. Jackson's mother looks back at him, a small frown spreading across her face. It was indeed true that Jackson didn't get along with the other kids at school just because he's different, so she let it play along. "You still having trouble in school, Jackson?" Jackson hesitantly nods his head, his smile turning upside down. He didn't like to think of what happens in school, only because being bullied is the hardest thing to talk about. "I'm different to everyone else." Jackson finally admits to himself. Once his mother scooped the pancakes onto plates, she walked to the dining room, "Different is good, be yourself." Jackson's mother placed the plates on the table, calling for April as she turned to Jackson. Jackson looked up at her frowning softly, desprately wanting an answer from her. "Why am I different mommy?" Jackson let out a slow sigh before his mother picks him up, holding him securely in her long arms. "I've given you a special gift, a gift only you can control", She laid a red nailed finger on his chest. "You're special".
