Iwas at my friend's house and I had asked Dad to come pick me up.
I texted: I'm ready now. Can you come get me?
He responded: I'm busy.
I texted: No, you're not. Come get me.
He responded: I'm busy.
After a few more texts back and forth like this, I finally called him. "You're not busy. Come and get me."
"I'm busy," he said flatly.
"No. Dad, just come get me, we've been at this for fifteen minutes already."
"And in all those fifteen minutes, you haven't once asked what I'm busy doing."
"Because I don't care."
"Then I don't care to come get you."
"Dad! Fine, what are you busy doing?" I asked with boredom and a hint of annoyance.
"Avoiding you," I heard him say through his snickering.
"Ha-ha," I fake laughed. "Funny. Can you come get me now?"
"No, you ruined my joke."
"Dad!"
"You can walk home," he said, then hung up.
Luckily, he eventually came to get me.
