Shock

Esmes pov
I woke up in the Greens home staring at the ceiling. I layed there for most of the day not wanting to move my body numb. Several people came in to try to get me to eat, Hershel came in and checked on my heath state he told Rick I was in shock. Rick and Glenn stayed by my side most the day. And then Carl came in and sat beside me he had his dads sheriffs hat on. "Hey Esme" he whispered covering his face with the hat by looking down at the side of my head. I longed to look at his identical blue eyes to his fathers. I struggled to move my head to find his ocean blue eyes. I finally managed to turn my head toward him so I could see his baby like face. His eyes met mine and he smiled before shouting "Dad, Glenn, Hershel!" he shouted returning his gaze to mine before allowing me to stroke his cheek with the pad if my thumb. Glenn, Rick and hershel all came rushing Rick leading them they all looked at me before smiling and laughing. Glenn came and hugged me and took Hershel and Carl with him leaving me and Rick by ourselves. Rick sat down in the chair his son sat in just a few moments ago. He held my hand and smiled at me. He stared into my eyes intently. I stared at his features and realized just how beautiful he was. " Rick..." I started " yeah?" He asked "Ki- could you get me some water please?" I asked I wanted to ask him to kiss me but I didn't. He nodded and left looking as if his puppy had just died. I sat up and waited for him to come back. He came back and handed me my water, I took a sip as it flooded my desert like mouth. I looked up at him after I put my water on the bedside table. I looked at him before i put my hand on his cheek and then pulled him into a hug. he kissed my head I looked up at him and put my lips against his slowly kissing him. He kissed back and I realized I was kissing a married man, he may be a married man but he's mine. " Daryl would be happy. I want you to know that and not feel guilty that you just kissed me. He told Glenn that he wanted me to move on to be with you and Carl." I said stroking his cheek he just nodded. He held me wrapped up in his arms. Carl came in and snuggled in between us as I stroked his hair softly. " thank you" Rick whispered " for what" I asked him " for protecting him" he said I just nodded. We fell asleep like that.
