I fear for when I take that first step
The first step into the rest of my life.
I fear for when I wont have sense of balance
When I have to spread my wings.
I fear for when I am no child
When I have to face the world alone. The years rush past like cars on an interstate.
Creating that bond with the cars who share your journey.
But soon break apart for separate destinies.
The signs guiding your way
But sometimes you still end up lost.
Protection looking among the busy highways
But you still get hurt along the way.
You look around at the cars around you
They all are like you.
They are one of you.
Trying to learn how to live in this world.I fear for the day when I take this world.
I fear I will break down on the side of the road.
Abandoned, lost, scared, left alone
As you watch the cars whip right by you.I fear for the day when I take that first step
The first step into the rest of my life.
