Emily's p. o. v
I look around the square. They were setting up for something tonight.
"What's going on tonight babe?" I ask Elijah
"Oh. They are having some birthday bash for Mayor Lockwood. She's having the entire town to celebrate." He says
"Oh ok. Sounds fun." I say which I really didn't mean.
It meant Damon would be there and I'm not ready to see him yet.
"Elijah, can we go home?" I ask him
"Hold on. I want this relationship to be real. So I'm going to take my compelling back." He says before looking me in the eyes.
"I want you to remember." He says
Images flashes through my mind of him compelling Damon and I. My eyes widen.
"You compelled us?" I ask shocked
"I had to. I wanted my mate. No. I needed my mate." He says
I shake my head and back away. As I'm backing away, I bump into someone. I turn around and meet the eyes of Damon.
"You compelled us Elijah? How could you?" Damon asks
"You shouldn't know. I compelled you and haven't taken that compel back." Elijah says
"I've been on vervain. Taking a little every day." He says smirking
I smile softly and hug Damon.
"If you don't mind, I'm leaving. With Damon. I love you Elijah, but just not as much as I love Damon. Maybe in a little while I'll come back. I can't stay away forever because you need a family. I need a family. Damon and I could adopt, but you need family who's blood." I say and hug Elijah.
He hugs back and kisses my forehead.
"Come back soon, my love. I can't wait forever for a family." He says while letting me go.
I walk over to Damon and grab onto his hand. He runs us back to the boarding house and we talk and catch up with Elena and Stefan.
