Morning came. The sun crept through the dark mini blinds in Gabriel's bedroom. Candy opens her eyes and Gabe's arms are wrapped around her body, squeezing her against him. He's snoring. She smiles a bit and kisses his cheek, wiggling out of his grasp and walked to the bathroom to pee.
She walked back into Gabe's room and saw her phone lighting up. Candy walked over to the phone and picked it up. The screen read "One Missed Call" Candy sat down on the bed and called her mom back. Her mother answered.
Deloris: Hello?
Candy spoke nervously.
Candy: Hi mom, it's me. Did you try to call?
Her mothers voice was so quiet.
Deloris: Yes baby.. I did. There's been an accident. Your uncle Phillip is dead, and dad is in the hospital. He's going to be just fine though
Candy's face turned pale. She choked back a sob.
Candy: Oh my god, mom!
Deloris: I have to go, honey. I have to call our family.
Candy: Okay..
Gabriel say up and looked at Candy.
"What's wrong, baby?" He spoke softly.
"My dad and uncle were in an accident." A small tear rolled down her cheek.
Gabriel looked at her wide eyed. "What??"
Tears started streaming down her face. "My uncle died. My dad is in the hospital"
