Dan's P.O.V.

One week later

Phil didn't do the homework for his fake-friends (that's how I called them) for a few days and some of them sent him messages about "how he would regret that", but until today, nothing happened.

Yeah. Until today.

Phil and I just went into the school as I saw many flyers.

"PHIL LESTER IS GAY!" they said. Then a picture of Phil. Phil himself didn't seem angry. Just sad. Probably because now, everyone knew.

"Hey Phil.. please ignore them. Just because someone wrote this it doesn't mean everyone believes it. And it seems like nobody cares."

"Yeah, nobody will care but the homophobes."

"If someone comes up to you and asks, just say no. Tell them it's a lie and everything will be fine. If they don't believe you, I'll make them. Everything's okay, don't worry."

"Okay.. let's just go to class."

I nodded and we went to class. Some people stared at us, but it was alright. If everyone believed that Phil was gay, they probably thought I was too and Phil's boyfriend. But I didn't care. I sat down and a girl came up to us. It was Annie.

"S-so you're both gay? And boyfriends? Well, good luck?"

What did I say?

"No, we're not boyfriends, nor gay, Annie", Phil answered.

"H-huh? But, these flyers! And you're always together!"

I smiled politely at her. "Yes, but someone made these. They're lying. We're just friends."

"R-really? Oh! Well, okay, sorry!", she said and went back to her friends. They all looked relieved. Well.

"See? It was the first one and she was nice."

"I'm happy that we could convince her. I don't think everyone will believe us."

"Oh, we'll get to that."

Our teacher entered the class. Lessons went by slowly and were boring. In the break, Phil and I sat at our usual place. Another boy came up to us. His name was Tyler, I saw him now and then. His hair was pretty cool, he always dyed it colorful.

"So, you're together?" he asked, after he'd asked if he could sit with us.

"What do you mean?"

"Come on, you're totally together!"

"What? No. Who told you something like that?" I asked again.

"Well, the flyers. And even if you tell everyone you're not gay or together, I can see it."

"No, Tyler. We're just friends!"

"Come on, I'm gay too, you don't have to hide yourselves."

"Tyler, please."

"Oh god! I can see it clearly! And everyone else too! How Dan's smile gets bigger, when Phil starts to talk and how you just laugh about Phils jokes an-"

A chair squeaked and Tyler stopped talking. Phil stormed out of the cafeteria.

"Great, thank you, Tyler! We're not together, please, please understand!"

I stood up and wanted to get Phil, but Tyler grabbed my arm.

"You know, while I said all of this, I noticed Phils eyes getting painfully glazing all over. Think about why he really left, Dan."

Tyler let go of my arm and I tried to ignore his words. I went out of the cafeteria and asked myself where Phil could be. Probably outside, even if he didn't have his coat. Nobody was outside because it was too cold to eat lunch and the break was almost over. I opened the door and went outside. Was he really here? It was so fucking cold! I saw Phil sitting on a bench, staring into the sky and sat down next to him.

"Is everything alright?"

Phil's P.O.V.

Everytime someone asked us if we were a couple, I was getting more and more annoyed. What annoyed me most about it was the fact that we weren't.

Yes, I was in love with Dan. With my best friend. With my only friend. That wasn't really smart, because Dan was heterosexual. Of course he was.

Everytime I had to tell someone I wasn't gay or that Dan wasn't my boyfriend, my heart hurt more, but that talk with Tyler has been the worst one. He was right. You could see how much I loved Dan, but Dan didn't love me, even though he looked at me like that. It was just his way of being nice, looking at someone while listening to them. That was why I was sure he didn't love me.

"Is everything alright?" a voice suddenly asked me. I was so scared that I fell of the bench I was sitting on. Dan and I started laughing.

"Don't sneak up on me like that!"

"I was walking in your eyesight and you saw me sitting down beside you, you idiot!"

I had to laugh even more.

"Let me help you" Dan said and gave me his hand.

"Thanks." I took his hand and sat down again.

"No problem" he said and smiled at me.

I sighed quietly and looked at his lips. It was so depressing to know, that I would never feel them on mine. They looked so soft and warm an-

"Phil?"

"Uhm, yeah?"

"Why are you staring at me like that?"

"L-like what?"

"Like you want to eat me!"

I laughed again. "Maybe I want to?"

"I won't let that happen!"

"You can't win against me!"

Dan and I were so close now and our faces were nearly touching. Could it be that we would kis-

"Look! It's snowing!"

I looked at the sky and sighed again. At least it was beautiful.

"Wow!" I said.

"I love snow!"

"Me too! Oh, wait, there's some in your hair."

"Crap! I forgot that my hair will start getting curly again if the snow melts.."

"Wait..I'll fix that." I brushed the snow off his hair. He smiled and I was dying inside. He was so beautiful. Just like the snow.

"Thanks."

"No problem. Why are you even straightening your hair?"

"I just don't like my curls.."

"But why not? I bet they look nice!"

"I don't know. In the past everyone thought they looked funny and annoyed me because of it, so I started straightening them. Soon, I was doing it out of habit and I just never stopped. I think you know what I'm talking about, when I say that you start to believe stuff people say if they keep telling you the same thing over and over."

"I just have to tell you that you look nice with curly hair and you'll believe me too!"

"If I tell you often that everything will get better, will you believe me too?"

"Dan, I believe you anyway."
