I watched the Doctor walk away, hoping that he didn't suspect too much. But I didn't need to worry about him anymore. I didn't have to do everything the Face of Bo said to do right now, right? Im finally free! With a smile on my lips, I slipped back into the supply closet, and flew away in my TARDIS.
After quite a bit of traveling, I began to see why the Doctor needed companions. I had seen amazing things, mountains that bend in the wind, aliens, all kinds of crazy stuff, but I was a little lonely, I must admit. I didn't even have a psychic connection with my TARDIS, so I was truly alone. Perhaps I should make some friends, travel with them. Except, I wasn't all that good with human interaction. The longest conversation I've ever had was the one with the Doctor, and that was awkward. But a thought came into my mind, someone the Face of Bo had told me about. A girl named Claire Pond. But after doing some research on the control interface of my TARDIS, she wasn't called that anymore. Nowadays, she was called Claire Quatson, and she was living with adopted parents, and an adoptive sister. I felt a little weird, having access to a persons whole life story, it felt stalker-ish. But I only looked at what I needed to know. She was 16, same age as her sister, Ruby Quatson. Alright, this could work. It as better than meeting random strangers and inviting them to join me. That would be stupid. Based on the knowledge my TARDIS gave me, I was able to pinpoint the current location of the two sisters. My TARDIS landed in an alleyway, somewhere in London, I don't really care. Stepping outside of the doors, and looking around, I was in front of a Starbucks. It was an odd name, but that was fine. Looking through the window, I saw them. Claire had hair that went down to her shoulders, and it was dyed blue, with a reverse ombre. She was pale, with green eyes. The other girl, Ruby, she had long dark brown hair that went halfway down her back. She was also pale, but she had brown eyes. The sisters looked nothing alike, but they seemed to be getting along just fine. They were both sitting at a table, with drinks, and lots of textbooks. Claire seemed to be concentrating hard on something, while Ruby sat there patiently. I smiled, hopefully this would go well. I walked into the Starbucks, pretending to wait in line while I eavesdropped. It was sneaky and stalker-ish, but I was lonely, and it wasn't like anyone was going to know.
"Alll, al, allo, allosee? Is it allosee? Is that how you say 'lets go'?" Claire was saying. I smiled a little bit, it was ironic, that what the Doctor would always say.
"No Claire, try it again. You have to pass this French class you know."
"I know I know, but why do I have to pass anyway?"
"So you can graduate high school, and go to college." Ruby replied smoothly. They seemed to have this talk a lot.
"Oh alright, let me try again, allonsie? alosie? Alo-se?" This is where I decided to cut in. I stepped out of line, and, approaching their table, I said
"Allons-y." They both looked at me, startled. Claire smiled.
"There we go, thats how you say it Rubix! Allon.... how did you say it again?" I smiled,
"Allons-y. French for, 'lets go'."
"I knew that, I just couldn't pronounce it, thats all." Ruby rolled her eyes, but she was smiling.
"You keep telling yourself that Claire, I'm Ruby by the way, but everyone calls me Rubix." I thought this was an odd nickname.
"And why do they call you that?" I asked. Rubix smirked at me.
"Because I'm impossible to figure out." I laughed, a quick, short laugh. Claire butted in,
"And I'm Claire, I tired to get everyone to call me candy, but it didn't work, so just call me Claire. And you are?"
"The names Smith....Melody Smith" I said, being super dramatic. They laughed.
"Your pretty cool Melody, why don't you take a seat and help me with my french, if your such an expert." Claire said. I thanked her and sat down.
"So your an expert huh? Tell me what I'm saying, 'tu es drole'." Rubix challenged. Uh oh, I didn't know any french, I just knew the one word.
"Um, its obvious isn't it? Your saying I'm awesome." I said, knowing that I was wrong, and trying to make it seem funny. I don't know. Thankfully, they laughed.
"Close, I said, 'Your funny'. Guess you aren't an expert after all." Rubix said, triumphant. But she didn't gloat, she said it jokingly.
"I guess not, I really only know Allons-y. But, why are you studying french anyway?" Rubix's smile turned to a sigh.
"Because she needs to pass in order to get her diploma, you look about our age, you should know this, don't you go to school?" Huh, that stumped me for a second
"Honestly, I dont." They both looked at me, wide eyed. Claire said,
"Lucky!" at the same time Rubix said,
"Isn't that illegal?" I smiled.
"Yes, I am lucky, and yea, its illegal for you guys, the rules here don't really apply to me." Rubix looked excited.
"How can we get the rules to not apply to us?" She asked. I frowned.
"I thought you were the one who was all like, we have to get good grades and stuff?" Claire rolled her eyes.
"You can't figure her out, just go with it. But what do you do if you don't go to school? And do your parents know that your cutting classes?"
"Its complicated. But I travel a lot, I don't really have parents, and I was never enrolled at school, so Im technically not cutting anything." I replied.
"You don't have any parents? Im so sorry, you must be lonely, but wait, how do you travel if you haven't got any parents?" Rubix asked.
"I am kind of lonely, but as for how I travel, you wouldn't believe me if I told you." Rubix and Claire both raised their eyebrows.
"Try us." Claire challenged.
"Alright, you asked for it. Follow me, and I'll show you what I mean." I got up from my chair and went over to the door, looking at them expectantly. They looked hesitant, they didn't really trust me yet, but I just needed to show them my TARDIS, and hopefully, they would join me. After a bit of talking, they boy got up and followed me.
"You better not try to sell us drugs or something." Claire warned.
"Don't worry." I lead them to the alleyway where my TARDIS was, when they saw me go into the alleyway, they hunt back, so I just opened the doors, and left them wide open, waiting for their curiosity to get the better if them. I walked around the control panel, presenting to do some complicated stuff, but really doing nothing at all. I just wanted to look impressive to be honest. I had seen the Doctor do it all the time. Soon enough, two heads poked through the doors, and looked around, wide-eyed. After quite a bit of them coming in and going back out to see if it was real, and a lot of murmured, 'its bigger on the insides'. They both stepped in for the final time, and said to me,
"How is this possible? Who are you?" I didn't want to lie to them, so I told them the truth. I told them that I was an alien, and this was my spaceship, that could travel through time and space. Of course they wanted more explanation than that, so by the time I was done, I had told them almost my whole life story, which wasn't actually that much. I left out what the Face of Bo had told me and how I had found them of course. I had begun to worry if they would come with me, but when I asked them, they looked at me with expressions of, 'Of course, duh, why would you even ask that?' and my worries were put to ease. I gave them a tour of my TARDIS, and soon, my TARDIS had disappeared from the alleyway, and we were flying, flying through all of time and space itself.
