If you didn't read the authors note, I redid the last chapter, and you need to read it to understand this chapter.

{Melody's POV}

It was dead silent.

I stood there staring at the Doctor, my father, not daring to meet the gaze of the boys. I could feel them all staring at me, waiting for me to deny that I had two hearts. To deny that I was an alien. But I didn't. There was no point.

"No, no I would not like to explain, it's a long story."

More silence, still I did not look at anyone but my father. He looked at me, disappointed, and a little angry.

"I see. Anything else you would like to tell me? Perhaps what connection you have to me?"

"Oh no, if I told you that, I'd have to tell you everything. And though my life had been...short, it would take a while to explain, Doctor."

The Doctor didn't say anything  else, and for once, neither did Donna. Gathering up my courage, I turned to face the boys. One by one, I looked them each in the eyes. Dally was staring at me distrustfully, while Darry, Sodapop, and Two-Bit just looked at me unbelievingly. Steve looked confused, and Ponyboy kept opening and closing his mouth, as if trying to say something. And finally, I faced Johnny. Emotions mixed in his eyes, disbelief, confusion, and sadness.

"I-it's not true is it? That you... That your...." He started to say

"Not human? I'm afraid I'm not. But Claire and Rubix are. They're just... not from this period in time."

"What?" Ponyboy asked.

"We, came here, with Melody, like how the Doctor did, in a spaceship." Rubix said. The Doctor tensed at the thought of Melody time-traveling in a spaceship, but remained silent.

"We're from the future, about a couple generations in the future, 2015, to be exact." Claire finished. The boys just stared at us. I looked away from Johnny, unable to meet his betrayed gaze.

"If your not human, what the hell are you!?" Dally yelled, getting angry fast. I looked at him, my gaze hard.

"Calm down. You don't want to fight me, I'm a trained soldier. An alien soldier."

"But you look human to me!" Two-Bit cried, probably not wanting to believe that im an alien.

"No, you look......like what I am. We came first. And...I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I just... didn't want to ruin this. Um-" I  explained sadly, but Rubix finished for her.

"We should probably leave. Let you guys think this over. Come on, let's go back."

"Good idea, let's go girls. Feel free to follow Doctor, I know you would've anyway." I said, sounding sad, and tired. So all the aliens, and time-travelers cleared out, leaving the greaser boys to their thoughts.

-----------

I led the girls, the Doctor, and Donna to a park, where I sat on a bench and sighed, looking at the Doctor with an eyebrow raised, stealing his look.

"I'm guessing you still want be me to explain, huh? You think that now there isn't an audience, I'll tell you."

"Not really, but I would like you to. So if you would, please." The Doctor said good-naturedly.

"Melody? Your not going to tell him, are you?" Rubix asked, a little nervously.

"No Rubix, not yet, anyway. I still have a couple things to do on my list. But, tell you what Doctor. For coming out all this way just to see me, I'll...answer one question. Deal?" The doctor smiles wearily, I assume he hadn't really expected me to tell him.

" Right then, let me think..." He tapped his chin thoughtfully. I waited in anticipation.

"You mentioned your life being short, exactly how old are you?" The Doctor decided. I  laughed once, I thought he was going to ask what connection I had to him, or how I travelled through time and space.

"I'm not exactly sure, but I'm somewhere around 6 months old." I answered, smirking. The Doctoe was shocked, not even time lord children grew that fast.

"What-" he began to say, but I shushed him.

"No, only one question, remember? Maybe next time we meet, I'll let you ask another."

------

The Doctor and Donna left, the boys had since cleared the area. And Melody said good-bye to her friend, the TARDIS. Mentally, of course. She didn't want the Doctor to know too much about her, not yet.
