Prologue

All I ever wanted was for Tyler Parker to back off and get out of my life. Apparently, some of my wishes just can't be granted. Why do I loathe him so much? You'll see.

*flashback*

It was the middle of the school year and somewhere around the month of October, on the 14th, exactly. I wanted to look good for tonight's party, unlike other girls I couldn't just walk around wearing anything and impress.

I looked in front of my full-length mirror to see how I looked and I was frantic, but I got exactly what I wanted for Tyler Parker's birthday- who exactly is Tyler Parker, you've been asking.

Tyler is the sweetest, most thoughtful person I know, he would do anything to make me happy, although sometimes he's pretty sketchy and sneaky. He's the "hottest guy in school" other girls would say, but I've never been one to dwell on that.

It was his laugh and his smile that captivated me, the way he would hug me from behind and intertwined his fingers with mine every time he took my hand. All in all, he's my boyfriend.

It was Tyler's 16th birthday and he was going to throw a huge party at his house. Half of the school's population was invited. Since I was the principal's daughter and Tyler's girlfriend, it was a pretty big deal for other girls but I was never so caught up with that fact. My dad is an extraordinary person, but either way, he likes living life normally.

I wanted to give Tyler something nice this year, because being sixteen only came once and I expected it to be special for him. I wanted him to live his life to the fullest just as he taught me. It wasn't anything fancy, but hopefully, it'd mean something to him.

It was a box half-filled with our Polaroid and photo booth pictures, notes and a mix tape of his favorite songs. It embodied his laid-back personality and his love for music. I finally turned away from the mirror.

Just as I was standing up to grab my handbag and his present, my phone rang.

Calling...

Tyler Parker

I clicked and the answer button and a conversation started:

"Hey babe, how's everything going?"

"It's fine babe. It'd be better if you were here already." He said.

"Well that's adorable, I'm sure you'll do fine without me." I managed to let a laugh out of the nervousness

"Babe, you're the biggest buzz kill I know! Whatever, don't come. I didn't want you to go anyway." I could tell he was trying to hold his laugh at his remark.

"Alright, I'll be there in a few. Don't make me throw my present at you, babe. You're adorable but you get on my nerves." I said jokingly and the call ended.

I sped down the stairs and grabbed my car keys, then proceeded to the living room where my parents were watching another re-run of "Extreme Couponing"

"Don't you guys ever get tired of watching that? We all know it lessens our expenses but in which situation do we need to use coupons?" I laughed at the two goofballs I called my parents.

"Well honey, you never know! We might someday be broke and need to buy our daily needs. Now, how are we going to finance that?" dad responded with a chuckle. He was the principal of South Ridge High! Of course going broke was the last thing on his mind. He'd established the school in 1995, but since his employees were the finest educators, there were a lot of enrollees by their third year. It was said that the students in South Ridge could compete with those of Ivy League schools.

"Easy, I get a job at Taco Bell." I said, reaching in to hug both mom and dad.

"Have fun okay? Just don't have too much fun." She wiggled her eyebrows.

"Ew mom, you're unbelievable." I laughed at her joke but somehow, I was more of grossed out.

"Bye! I'll try to be home before midnight!" I slipped on my denim jacket and all-black Converse sneakers.

"You look beautiful, by the way!" One of them shouted loud enough, as I neared the front porch.

"Thanks!" I hollered back.

I hopped into my white convertible, started the ignition and pealed out of the driveway.

Hey guys! I hope you liked the very first part of the story. Chapter 1 is not until after Prologue (3), but that's where the plot thickens and becomes more interesting. Forgive me if some of the parts are bad, hahaha I'm trying.

After Prologue (3) is Chapter 1. In all the chapters, it only includes two P.O.V's (Mackenzie's and either of the two boys, Luke or Tyler)
