I went straight for Tyler's room, and made it in front of his door in a matter of seconds. I knew his house too well.
I was about to turn the knob when I heard mere giggling sounds from inside. Most of it probably came from a girl. Getting even more suspicious, I slowly turned the knob but it was locked. Now I was even more frantic, if Tyler was up to something- he planned it out well.
Luke came from behind and asked me if I found him.
"I'm pretty sure I did." I pointed to the locked door knob.
He put a finger over his mouth, as if to say "shush" and took out his wallet. He kept spare keys to Tyler's room for times like this, but it would rarely happen. The key was used for the first time in ages after all. At last he got it out of his wallet, the key was inserted and the knob turned freely.
I pushed the door a little more, only to see Tyler making out with some girl sitting on his lap. His hands roamed her back and it looked like they were eating each other's faces out. I turned to face Luke and he too, was shocked. His mouth was agape but I was on the verge of tears. The pain stung, but it made me feel more numb than hurt. Only, you can never be numb without feeling a sizable amount of pain. The very moment I saw him with a girl and she wasn't me, every inch of emotion I felt bombarded me; especially that of anger and betrayal.
I guess I breathed too loud or dragged my feet too obviously because they broke apart until what seemed like a lifetime.
"Oh shit." Tyler exclaimed and the girl on him, jumped off as he fixed his messy hair.
"Nice job Tyler, Happy Birthday!" I shouted with all the sarcasm I could muster in his face as my uncontrollable tears dropped. He remained silent but tried to come closer.
"When's the next episode?" Once again I shouted, but with more anger than sarcasm.
He continued to come near but I didn't move just yet.
"I thought you cared. I thought I meant the world to you. But that's the problem with me, Ty. I always think, I should've known." I backed away, Luke standing right beside me.
"Mackenzie, it's not what it looks like! I-i"
"You shut up, Ty! Mackenzie's been looking for you all night." Luke defended, stepping one foot forward at a time.
"But you called earlier and I thought, 'I'm the luckiest person on the face of the earth!' yet, you give me this in return. You have me waiting for hours to see you then I catch you making out with another girl! God, how could I be so stupid?" I demanded an explanation, but it wasn't given to me just yet.
The girl's dirty blonde hair framed her face as she smirked greedily, like her job was accomplished or something. She got up and wore her stilettos. As she walked out the door, she winked at Luke- causing him to roll his eyes.
"You're lucky I don't punch the shit out of girls." Luke said while clenching his fist. His expression softened when he faced me, full of regret and sadness for a poor girl who had been tricked by her own first love.
Yes, Tyler was my first boyfriend. We'd always promise ourselves, as impossible as it sounded; that we'd be each other's firsts and lasts. That was when we were willing to try. Right now, everything we've been through fell apart before our eyes.
"Whoa bro, that wasn't cool." Tyler retorts, disputing with my ongoing thoughts.
"Bull-shit, you're not cool." Luke enunciated every word clearly and for the first time ever. I couldn't believe he was sticking up for me. Still, this was my own fight. I didn't need to have people do it for me.
