Frank's eyes changed slightly to a darker shade of hazel green as he tensed up. "No." he replied. Gerard looked up at him with a confused look on his face, "What?" he questioned. Frank sighed and got up, pulling on his jeans and a t-shirt that was probably Gerard's. "No, you're not going to uni tomorrow," he grabbed Gerard's bag and shook it, everything in it falling out onto the floor. "you're not going ever-" "Frank." Gerard interrupted sternly. "Let me finish." He stopped and looked at Gerard. "You're never going to uni without me." he stated, hands on his hips. Gerard looked down and shook his head. "You can't come."
"Why not?"
"Because."
Frank sighed, irritated. "That's not an accurate answer, Gerard." Gerard threw his hands up and groaned. "Because it's fucking uni, Frank, and it's for art. Something you don't do. Okay? You wouldn't enjoy it."
"Ah, but I'd enjoy you, not the art. Hell, you are the art, Gerard Way." he smirked. Gerard let out an angry breath and stood up. "Fuck off. I'm going to uni, you're not coming with me, and I'm probably never going to see you again. Ever. So I need to suck it up and accept it and you need to leave. Like, right now." He avoided Frank's eyes as he walked past him to gather all of his things on the floor.

"No, Gerard. We're not splitting again. This, this can't happen again. Please, just-"
"Fucking give it up Frank! What don't you get? I'm giving you all the answers here! You already begged me! Okay? Just fucking leave..." he muttered the last three words, almost depressed to say them. Sad he'd have to leave Frank again. He didn't want this to happen. After a few moments of silence and thought, Frank looked at Gerard. "Gerard, do you love me?" he said it with complete wonder and honesty, wishing for an honest answer. He wasn't sure what answer he was going to get. Gerard replied shortly after, lifting his head to look up at Frank. "Yes."
"Then why are you leaving?"
"Because I have to."
"No you don't. You want to. You've wanted to leave me ever since you saw me again yesterday." he turned away and a tear slipped down his cheek. "I knew it." Gerard was about to get up and wrap his arms around Frank and never stop telling him how much he loves him, but he stopped himself. "The more you love, the more you'll miss." he told himself.

He threw all of his things in his bag and got up, looking at Frank once more. "I love you Frank, but you must understand." with that, he ran out of the room and got in his car and drove to uni. Frank reached out in a desperate attempt to somehow make Gerard come back, but he didn't and he never did, not even when it was summer. He didn't see Gerard for two years, and every day he tried to understand what the hell Gerard meant. "but you must understand." ran through his brain. He wrote it everywhere. It gave him headaches. "but you must understand." he wrote it on the wall, the door, his notebook, and his wrists. He wrote it on the mirror, his arms, his guitar, and his hands.

On a miserable rainy day when he was out of milk and in need of some ice cream because why the fuck not, he walked into the grocery store and put his hood up. He was getting milk and then headed to the tea section because he had a sudden craving for tea, and grabbed a box of Twinning's Breakfast Tea, along with some Celestial Berry tea. "Authentic." he chuckled to himself and walked to the register.

"Ah, hot tea. What a nice addition on a day like today, all rainy and foggy. Perfect." the nice old lady at the register said, placing it in a bag as he scanned his card. "Have a great day!" she said. Frank nodded and walked out the door. When he got in the car, he turned on the radio and 'Cancer' came on. Frank shook his head and sighed. "Really?" he muttered as he turned it up. He didn't hear his cell phone ringing his specific tone he had set for Gerard because the music was too loud. He got home and made some tea and Gerard called again. Right before Gerard called, Frank accidentally dropped his phone in the pot. "Shit!" he said, grabbing it out of the boiling water quickly.

The next day, Frank went outside to get some more guitar picks, seeing as he lost them on accident. "Frank?!" he heard someone yell. He looked over to see Gerard, but now with black hair. His eyes widened and he ran over to him and hugged him close and tight. "What the fuck?!" Gerard said angrily and pushed Frank off of him. Frank was taken back at this and he stepped a bit closer. "W-what?" he stuttered, staring at Gerard. "What do you mean, 'what' ?" he questioned. "I called you. Why didn't you pick up?" He chewed his lip. "What?! I never got any calls from you!"
"You're lying! I called you twice last week! You fucking declined both." He stared at the ground. "I needed you." Frank stepped even closer. "I..I didn't get them, Gerard, honest. But I'm here now. I promise." He wrapped an arm around Gerard's neck. Gerard once again pulled away. "Don't fuck with me, Iero. I don't need you anymore. Get off me." His stare was heavy and angered and it reminded Frank of hell.

"Gerard. Come over. We can talk." he begged, not wanting to lose him again. "Talk? Talk? I tried that already, fuckhead! Just go away!"
"I love you, Gerard, you must understand." His voice cracked and Gerard looked up at him, a hint of sadness occuring in his eyes. He just ran away again, and Frank just stood there, again, letting tears slip out of his tired eyes.
