The Lion King 4 : Vita Kuu (great war) aka Kiara and Kovus pride

The Lion King 4 : Vita Kuu (unfinished, constructive critisizim welcomed openly)

chapter 1: A Long Day

The sun was low in the sky, a deep ruby ball disappearing rapidly over the horizon. It painted the vast savannah many vibrant shades, all somewhere between the most bloodiest of crimsons and the muddiest of browns. Over the pridelands, antelope ran in confusion, calling for their beloved and cherished family, only to discover that they had fled during the  great battle, leaving them alone. Kovu, who was sat at the peak of pride rock, looking over at the destruction, knew exactly how they felt, as his sister Vitani did. His wife, Kiara, had gone to comfort her. Once again, he struggled to get his head around the fact that Kiara and himself were now married, as Rafiki had blessed them earlier that day. He smiled weakly at the memory, as if it had been years ago. It had been a long day, he thought. He had lost his mother, and did not know how to feel about it. If he hadn't abandoned the outsiders pride, would she still be alive? But then again, would his now-father-in-law Simba be alive too? Would his Beloved kiara be here with him? Just as he thought this, he heard her gently padding out of the cave, and he turned to greet her. The last rays of the crimson sun reflected of her glossy golden coat, making her look unbelievably gorgeous. He, for one, was lost for words.

"Is...is she ok?" Kovu whispered, aware that all of the other lionesses had gone to the cave, for a well deserved rest.

"she's fine, Kovu" whispered kiara, sitting just in front of him, her hazel eyes locking in to his emerald ones. Her eyes welled with tears, and her gaze dropped to the floor.

"could I have done more, Kovu? Vitani is devastated, they were so close! your mother, I should have saved her! I could have saved her with a little more..."

"Kiara!" Kovu  interrupted

"Kiara, Thing is, if she was here would your father be here?" and he paused to put his paw on hers

"Would you be here? Kiara, I love you so much, I wouldn't know what to do without you!" and a single tear slid from his eye, and when he looked at Kiara, he saw she was crying too. she moved closer to him and pushed her head into his chest, and he brushed his chin over her head, putting a paw around her and pulling her in close. He looked to the stars, embedded diamonds in the purple sky, as the pair pulled away from one-another, leaving only centimetres between their noses.

"she is up there now. With scar and Nuka. They are her true family. she made it clear to me that I was not hers or Scars. I was simply... simply just stronger than Nuka" and he closed his eyes tightly.

"you are the only family I have now, you and Vitani." he smiled.

"For now" Kiara grinned, cheekily, and it took a few seconds for him to realise what she was talking about, but by the time he was about to ask her, she turned and padded towards the cave

"come on" she giggled, gesturing towards the cave"

" I'm exhausted! lets have our well earned rest" and the pair walked tail to tail towards the cave, exhausted and emotional from the long day they had just struggled through.

chapter 2: A little chat

Kovu awoke with a start, opening one eye slowly, expecting to see an orange sunrise, but what he saw instead shocked him. His head jerked up and he worked out what time it was. He learned how to do so in Zira's care, so that they knew when a meeting, training session or an attack was to be launched. It was around half eight, they had overslept for 2 hours! He nudged Kiara who groaned and rolled over

"go away Kovu" she mumbled

he grinned. he liked this kind of game.

he bit her ear, and her head jerked up, but as she looked around, she noticed that kovu was gone. she stood, and from behind a rock he pounced on her pinning her on her back.
