When I first saw our new house, I had to rub my eyes, twice! It’s like a dream coming true, I have always dreamed about living near the ocean and now I basically live on the beach. The ocean is about ten yards from our house, and not to mention our garden. We have a palm tree and a big barbecue. But the thing I still can’t get over is my new room, it literally took my breath away. My words can’t give the room justice, but I’ll give it a try. The walls are purple and I have a double bed in walnut, a dressing table and a desk also in walnut. A full-length mirror, and a balcony with sea view but the most amazing thing is that I got my own bathroom and, yes people there is more, a walk in closet! As I stood there in the middle of my closet with my chin down by my feet, my mom comes into my room.
”Do you like your room sweetie?”
”I love it, you have done a great job with it. I can’t believe this is mine” I turn around to face my mom and sending her the biggest smile ever.
”Well it’s all yours, I want the best for my princess” my mother replies and taking my hand and leads me out on the balcony
“This is quite a difference from New York”
“Is that why you applied for a job here?” I asked my mother
”I don’t know sweetie, maybe I just did feel like we, couldn’t stay in New York and then I just found this job and I just took it right away without thinking. And now here we are, but deep down I think we needed something different” I look at my mom and watch her tears fall down her face. I put my arms around her and lay my head on her shoulder
“It’s okay mom, and you are right we need to move on, we’ll never forget dad but we can’t live with that pain everyday. And I don’t hate you for bringing me out from New York”
“And neither do I, how can I hate the best mom in the world” I lift up my head to met my brothers gaze and fire of a smile at him.
“Yeah mom, you’re the best” My mom dries her tears and looks at us with a big smile on her face.
“Only because I have the most beautiful and amazing kids in the world” Both me and Ethan wrap our arms around our mom and giving her the biggest hug in world history. When we finally let her go she gives us a serious look
“So how does it feel to start a new school tomorrow?”
“Pretty cool, I have heard the girls are pretty hot down here” I punch my brother on his right arm
“What?” My brother says and I roll my eyes
“How do you feel about it Haley?” I look up to meet my mothers blue eyes
“Good, I guess. Just a bit nervous, that’s all”
“You have nothing to worry about, I’ll look after you” Ethan says with a big cocky smile on his face.
“So what do you teenagers say about some food?”
“Finally, I’m starving” Ethans says as he leaves my room and walks downstairs. I laugh at my brother and follow my mom to the kitchen. The rest of the evening my family and I watched tv and talked about our new school, Ormond High. When it was time for bed I gave my mom a hug and a kiss on the cheek and hit my brother in the back of his head. I go up to my room and change my clothes and brush my teeth. I lay down in my new bed and this is the most comfort bed I have ever laid in. I never want to get up, with a sigh I set my alarm on 6:30. I close my eyes and take a deep breath. I can do this, it’s just a new school, I have been through much worse. It didn’t take long before I fell asleep.
