I stepped into the apartment and closed the door softly behind me. Calum didn't notice my entrance, and he stayed glued to the television as he tried to get out of sixth place on Mario Kart. Ashton and Jess were laying on the couch, cuddled into each other.
I was still angry that Calum had lied to me, to all of us. I cleared my throat and waited for him to notice me. Jess opened one eye and Ashton raised his head a little to get a better look at me. Calum didn't turn around.
I walked past the armchair he was sunk into and tapped his shoulder, continuing on into my room. He paused the game and rose an eyebrow at Ashton, who smirked back at him. Jess wiggled her eyebrows and made kissing noises. They all had the completely wrong idea. I only wanted Calum to follow me so that we could talk in privacy.
Calum followed me into my room and shut the door behind him. There was a smirk on his face.
"I've never been in your room before," he said, a cocky smile on his lips. "I imagined it to be much more... like a girls." He took a look at all the band posters on the walls, the blue paint and the humongous mess of clothes everywhere.
I sat on my bed. "Are you being sexist?"
Calum leaned back against the door. "So why did you bring me in here? I'm guessing it's not to do with anything, you know..."
I coughed as Calum laughed. That would have been a way better reason for having Calum in my room.
"Why did you lie to us?" I asked suddenly, knowing deep down that it was really none of my business. That didn't stop me from being hurt though.
Calum frowned. "What?"
"You know what I'm talking about. Michelle didn't break up with you, did she?"
He scratched his neck awkwardly, then stood up straighter. "No, but that's not really any of your business."
My eyebrows pulled together. "Why did you lie? Michelle said you dumped her for someone else."
Calum rolled his eyes. "Oh, so now you and Michelle are best friends who tell each other everything?"
"No, but..."
"But what?" He asked, getting angry. "What happened between me and Michelle has nothing to do with you."
His words stung. "Calum, I-"
He opened the door. "You know what? I don't have time for you sticking your nose in where it isn't wanted. I'm leaving," he growled harshly.
I stood up and glared at him. "Fine. Leave. I don't care. And don't bother coming back."
"Don't worry, I won't," he yelled, halfway through the living room.
"Fine," I shouted.
"Fine," he snapped, and the apartment door slammed shut.
I dropped back onto my bed and squeezed my eyes shut. What just happened?
Those last few words had just spilled out of my mouth without my thinking. Now Calum hated me, and why wouldn't he? It was all my fault, who else could I blame?
There was a cough from the doorway and I opened my eyes. Jess stood there awkwardly, wringing her hands together. Her eyes were soft and worried.
"What happened? Ashton went out after Calum," She said quietly.
"Calum thinks I'm a crazy control freak," I mumbled.
Jess sat next to me and wrapped her arm around my shoulder. "Why?"
