Screampaw padded through the forest with Birdpaw and Turtlepaw close behind.
Turtlepaw huffed "What are we doing out here again"?
"We're looking for Larkkit, mousebrain, Pay attention" Birdpaw snapped. Screampaw's senses were locked onto the assignment Weaseleyes had given her, she wouldn't let her mentor down.
Birdpaw stopped, his sharp ears twitching "I-I think I hear her" He mewed "Follow me" and slipped off into a dense patch of ferns. Screampaw and Turtlepaw followed eagerly.
Birdpaw came to a halt at a large dry meadow "She's in here, I'm sure of it" He murmured. Within seconds Screampaw had pounced into the tall dry grass and was out of sight. She followed her ears and raised her snout to try to determine where her little sister was. She whipped around as a giggle came from behind her and a small black and white kit leapt out to greet her sister.
Screampaw gasped "Larkkit"! and bent her neck down to nuzzle her "You're in a lot of trouble" She growled and picked up Larkkit by the scruff.
"Whatever" Larkkit retorted and dangled from Screampaw's jaws. Screampaw had to raise her muzzle to keep Larkkit from dragging on the ground. She leapt onto a tall rock and looked above the tops of the grass. She saw Birdpaw at the edge of the meadow, scanning the grass for the young kit. Screampaw bounded off the rock and burst out of the grass with Larkkit in her jaws.
Birdpaw purred "Good work Screampaw".
Screampaw gave a brief smile and realized Turtlepaw wasn't with him "Where's Turtlepaw"? Turtlepaw padded out of the grass, heaving with effort "I ran the whole perimeter of the meadow for nothing".
Birdpaw shrugged "At least you tried".
"Lets get back to camp before anyone's too worried" Screampaw meowed and strode off.

Screampaw padded into camp "We've found her" She announced and set Larkkit down.
The troublesome Firefly raced over to greet her adventurous kit. Firefly lapped at her face "Where have you been, never ever do that again" She scolded sternly.Screampaw's tail swayed as her Step-father, Wolffang padded up to them and nuzzled Larkkit. She looked at her paws and longed for a father of her own.

Screampaw plucked a small vole from the prey pile.
"Hey Screampaw" Birdpaw called, crouched with a plump squirrel between his paws.
Screampaw picked up her Vole and padded over to him "Hey" she smiled and settled down next to him.
"You did a good job today, you know, how you found Larkkit".
Screampaw blushed "It was nothing, really" she looked down at her vole "I'm not very hungry" She mewed, "You want it"?
"Nah, Im good" Birdpaw licked his lips and pushed away the remains of his squirrel.
"Alright, I'm going to go give this to Firefly and Larkkit, they're probably hungry".
Birdpaw nodded as she got up and padded off. She slipped into the kits den where Firefly and Leopardfrost were sharing tongues while Larkkit pounced on a limp mouse.
As Screampaw padded in she reminded the kit through a mouthful of vole fur "You eat you're food not play with it, be thankful Starclan granted you with that mouse".
Larkkit ignored her and continued to swat it around with a paw. Screampaw set the vole down near Firefly and Leopardfur.
Firefly looked up at her "Thanks" She mewed and turned to Leopardfur "Want to share"?
Leopardfur shook her head "No thanks I just ate" She lapped at her swollen belly. Screampaw dipped her head and padded out again.
