Screampaw trotted through the dense undergrowth. Her paws sank into the thick carpet of ivy as she padded deeper into the forest. Her violet eyes flashed as she spotted a plump squirrel in a large nearby clearing, too busy burying an acorn to see her. she shrank down into the ivy and slowny crept towards it her paws light as feathers. She bunched her muscles as she got only a few fox lengths away. Its head popped up as it spotted her unbearably noticeable white pelt and darted away. She curled back her lips to reveal glinting white canines and chased after it. She growled in annoyance as it scrambled under a bush. She hurled herself over the bush to be shoved to the side in midair by another feline. It pinned her on her back and snarled. The massive silver tabby tom appeared to have a dark brown underbelly and paws. With sudden regret she realized she had crossed the border.
" You're on Shadowclan territory, Fox breath".
Battlecry. She squirmed underneath his burning glare and hissed "I didn't realize I had crossed the boundary" and glared back.
" I should of known. Thunderclanners never respect borders these days. Especially a dumb witted apprentice like you" He bared his fangs.
How dare he. She slid out from underneath him and nipped his ankle causing his leg to collapse "Who's dumb witted now, mousebrain" She spat indignantly.
He recovered from her sudden attack and stood up, shaking out his thick pelt and his eyes glinted with curiosity and she even thought she saw a little admiration "quick for a Thunderclanner" he snorted. She remained silent, her tail lashing and surprised as he casually sat.
"So, who are you"?
She grunted "Isn't this the part where you take me to you're camp for insulting you and crossing the border and hold me there until Thunderclan realizes I'm gone"?
he smirked "I'm being nice, but I could if you really wanted me to".
She hesitantly mewed, facing him "I'm Screampaw".
"Battlecry" He meowed back.
"Yeah, I know, the new Head warrior".
He nodded "It's a big job, But, nothing I can't handle" he stretched arching his spine.
"Yea I bet" She rolled her eyes.
He stared at her and thought for a moment "What brings you out so late"?
She shrugged "what's it to you"? and whipped around as a voice echoed behind her.
"Battlecry"!
He got to his paws "I'd like to see you another time" He mewed.
Her eyes stretched wide " You mean, come back"?
He nodded "Just once more" Their eyes met for a few seconds and he slipped off into the shadows.
She sighed as something deep down inside her told her she couldn't refuse.
