Chapter 6

Bella's P.O.V

~I gota be careful this time, i do NOT want to get caught up there, those highschool kids dont need to know the color of my undies and they certainly wont find out today!~ She slowly slid her fingers into each one of the chubby diamond lined metal openings and pulled herself up, it wasn't until now that she realized that using her left foot wasn't an option, she was going to only use this foot when absolutely necessary. Slipping her little brown sneaker into the gaps, she continued climbing at a wobbily pace, lacking any means of elegance.Once at the top of the fence, she quickly came to the conclusion that this part required some skill. She leaned forward ever so slightly and balanced her left hand on the top of the fence while the other slide behind her back and kept her skirt close to her body, a dulled bolt of pain shot up her wrist, kindling a bonfire of torture that crackled and worsened beyond the tolerable point from the awkward angle when she she jumped down. ~Dammit!~ luckily she landed on both feet but just to spoil her luck her left ankle decided to act up again when the force of landing met it's sprain point. ~Just lovely~ She chose the long trek through the forest home, and think about her excuse for being late as she went along. The soft, cool winter breeze blew her hair from her shoulders and she stopped to slowly inhale the fresh pine scent. She made sure to keep her steps light as to not startle the many scurry mammals that inhabit this peaceful place. The drop of temperate signaled not only night fall but the impending snow that surely awaited her the next day. She let her eyes scan the woods, it felt quieter then normal, as if everything was chased off by something. Noting this, she began to grow cautious, and stop frequently the check her surroundings.

Ben's P.O.V

~Where the hell am I? Oh if only i had some green haired girl playing me a guiding tune through this place, its going to be dark soon and I'm cold..~ He grew cocky when he'd past these woods everyday on the way home and figured he'd try strolling through them, what a brilliant idea hot shot.

Bella's P.O.V

She had a feeling something was up, these woods are never empty, which lead her to believe someone may have ruined the serene nature of the minor mammal's inhabitance. Bella felt a chill go down her spine and shivered as the air grew chillier then she looked towards the dead frostbitten leaves that scattered the ground. Her breathe had now escaped her lips in small gray clouds. ~I wish i had my jacket..~ By now she was shivering as the faint light that shimmered through the dense leaves grew dimmer and night began to fall, fear had clouded her mind and she jumped at any noise she heard, from her own footsteps to the faintest crinkle of leaves. This was the deepest and eeriest section within these woods as she spotted small hints of blurry mist that formed meters away from her current location. Something told her to run, run far off and out of this potential danger zone, but she kept herself calm by steadying her pace to a small jog, not enough to sway her arms for balance but just enough to pick up her pace. It wasnt long before she had to stop when a cold sting grew in the back of her throat from sucking in the dry cool air, she figured it was fine to resume her walk, it was better on her sore swollen ankle. ~Fuck this forest...~

Ben's P. O.V

He stopped at the stump of a rotting sycamore, having given up on his dance for phone signal he sat there with his head in his hands. He was more so scared of the punishment he'd receive from being out to long then being left here over night. Its just a heap of dirt and trees, not to mention all the dumb creatures that go scuttling about the property. He leans back to hang his torso loosely so his body draped downward upon the log. Ben enjoyed the rush of blood flow to his head as he surveyed the woods from his upside down position, chuckling at the strange shapes the trees made when twisted in direction. He flinches from a strange sound echoing around his location, that of footsteps, the sounds rustling from all directions and stopping to trail off further to the west of him. He merely shrugs it off, if something were really after him he'd know it, but just to be on the safe side he straightens up and scavenges for some sort of weapon.

Bella's P.O.V

All seemed calm while the pit of suspense in her gut began to ease, however as fate would have it there was sudden, quick, and soft crinkles of foot steps that seemed to echo around her. Her soft clouds of breath had thickened with her heavy frightened breathing. The steps grew louder and louder until they suddenly stopped. Everything dead silent, still, horrifying. She slowly turned her head to glance at her surroundings.

Then there was a small swish of her hair as she felt a presence dash past her, and she spun and began turning her head around frantically, and her heart beat began racing out of her chest as she felt a warm slow breath down her neck before a hand snapped around the front of her and cupped over her mouth so her scream was muffled.
