Chapter 8

Bella's P.O.V

Jack chuckled softly as Bella shook and stuttered, her mind whirling with curiosity, everything looked so familiar about him it was deadeningly nostalgic. Jack's raspy yet smooth voice interrupted the split second of silence. "Lookie here.. Two in one, must be my lucky night huh?"

Ben shook Jack's neck violently but in a humane manner as to not critically injure him, causing the back of his head to smack on the ground. "Easy killer" Jack sneered with a devilish smile. Bella's arms wrapped around the tree behind her with her body shivering from the tips of her little mud stained brown sneakers to her pale soft cheeks. Small frightened whimpers followed her shakey breaths. The natural light was growing dim, and the air only getting dryer. Jack's arms were flung above his head rested in the dry dead leaves in a surrendered manor and the same mischievous sneer decorated his face. "You're fucking sick." Ben's voice piped up at last. ~Hold it.. Where are his ey- Oh my lord this can't really be..~ "You're Eyeless Jack.. Aren't you..?" She croaked out, not sure if she was excited or still having a panic attack. Jack tilted his head from it's alinement to Ben's to smile at her with a deep thirst for bloodshed and the flinch inducing lock of the sunken black eye sockets. "Clever girl." There was a flash of anger in his tone but he remained within Ben's hold. Bella swallowed hard and her eyes flickered from the blonde haired boy to the hungry hooded teen. "Run! I'll take care of him!" Ben spoke urgently to his right where Bella's body froze against the great oak's bark. ~But what if he gets hurt.. I can't just-~ This thought didn't linger long as her legs instantly began forcing her away from them when Jack had flung Ben off, the both of them rolling and tussling into a violent floor combat. Her ankle numb but not slowing her down. Her throat felt as though a blizzard beat down on it but with the faint sound of pursuit behind her that was the least of her worries. A trained deadly killer just came into her life and wanted her dead, as flattering as it was for her to be granted the honor of her dreamed death she wasn't ready for the cold emptiness that awaited her on the other side.
