Chapter 7

She squirmed and kicked during the tight grip it had around her waist. She barely had time to notice the pale black skin on her attacker's hand. A ghostly black, she fought and squirmed until it threw her into the nearest tree, the surprisingly soft and scarred hand still over her mouth. He was a tall young teen, barely a few years older than her with a long loose black hoodie. She studied the moist darkened red spots splattered sporadically across his shadowy skin and hood. ~Blood..~ She noted in her mind silently until his left hand slipped into his hoodie pocket to remove a small bloodly scalpel. He had dark smooth strands of brown hair that peeked from the sides of the hood, however his eyes were shrouded by both the hair amd smooth blank lining of the hood, but his crooked smirk caught her attention most. She finally gulped slowly as the small pools of tears commenced their descent down her cheeks.

Ben's P.O.V

Ben jumps and dashes towards a muffled cry, acting on instinct. His heart smashed against his ribcage and his lungs sucking in the frosty night air. He skids to a halt when noticing the glint of a blade in the rising moonlight, and the entrapment of a female figure against a tree. With one well timed leap he had barreled into the boy and held him down with his pale hands locked around the silk blood moistened color of the hoodie. His scalpel had flung out of reach in a pile of mossy dead fungi. As the hood and some of his swept back bangs were snapped from his face Ben immediately recognized his identity with a stab of terror, the hard oval item in the hoodie pocket only further clarifying this. Pinned in his very hands was the Eyeless Jack himself.
