Chapter 9

Her heart pounding against her chest and her muscles screamed at her to slow down but as deaf as she was she dragged them on until the bitter end. She barely made out the dark outlines of trees which seemed to whiz past her, it was like being thrown into a horror scene in a movie and never knowing where the killer will appear next, yet in this case obstacles. Like the surprise killer her ankle caught in a bevy of flourishing vines. They entangled a majority of her leg and with much twisting and rolling over she was on her back and even more trapped within the natural snares. She watched Ben slow his pace with his chest heaving.

Ben's P.O.V

He'd finally rose to his feet, gripping the swiss army knife he dug from his pocket. He had gotten this from his dad, appreciating it's usefulness as he dove in to stab the back end of the handle roughly into a cluster of nerves surrounding the mid point of Jack's collarbone and neck. As soon as the Creepypasta was down with a brief pass out Ben was hard on Bella's heels to keep her safe. When he slows he chuckles lightly from her fall, honestly finding it amusing. "You really had me running there. You should take it easy" once out of ear shot of Jack who seemed to have disappeared altogether his voice had lowered back down to it's usual calming tone. Bella of course blinded with dirt watering her eyes and her vision had no idea who was hovering above her until she huffed out in relief when he spoke once more. "Cool it Bella, It's me Ben."

Bella's P.O.V

She watched as he leaned over her with a warm smile and began to saw at the vines around her lower legs with his previously mentioned knife. "Gee thanks.. Dunno how in the name of hell that guy got here but I'm glad you came in when you did." The sharp tang of the vine's sticky tart blood filled her nose and Ben straightened up to offer his hand to her. "Look, just keep clear and close to me and you'll be fine, I knocked him out somewhere back there."

Bella's P.O.V

Her heart slowed as she grasped his hand and pulled herself up. Her body was groggy and slow but the adrenaline was still pumping through her veins to keep her alert as the two strolled in silence through the thinning of the woods. Once they'd reached the exit they both swore to never tell a soul the things they'd seen the last thing she needed was a police taped forest and rumors spreading about a killer on the loose.
