Cat ran.

She ran as fast as her little legs could go.

She ran away from the neighborhood massacre that was taking place. She ran into the the big city of New York, trying to find help. She stumbled and landed on her hands and knees. She stood back up and kept running down the empty, dark alley.

Cat ran.

You're not in this alone
Let me break this awkward silence
Let me go, go on record
Be the first to say I'm sorry
Hear me out,
And if you take me down
Or would you lay me out
And if the world needs something better
Let's give them one more reason now, now, now

Cat looked around the city. The night stars were dimmed by the city lights.

"H-hello...? Anyone here? Help!" She called out into the darkness. No one answered but a couple cicadas.

A twig snapped in the alley behind her. Cat turned around suddenly, causing her to fall on her back.

"W-who's there? I'm not scared of you!" Cat's tiny voice called out into the darkness. Her jet black hair blew around in the night breeze. Her red eyes grew wide. The neko ears atop her head pressed back in fear.

"Don't worry! I won't hurt you." A voice, just as tiny as Cat's, replied. A frail girl, roughly Cat's age, with bright purple hair and eyes to match slowly walked out from the dark.

We walk in single file
We light our rails and punch our time
Ride escalators colder than a cell
This broken city sky like butane on my skin
stolen from my eyes
Hello Angel, tell me where are you
Tell me where we go from here

"I'm Felicity Lordenhigh. Who are you?" The girl extended her hand for the young Cat to take. Cat was hesitant, but excepted and grabbed Felicity's hand, and was pulled to her feet.

"I'm Cat Holton... N-nice to meet you." She gave a wide smile to her new friend.

"Nice to meet you too Cat! Come on, let's get out of here."

Tell me we go from...

"Are you from the area down there? Where are the innocent people are dying?" Felicity asked as her and Cat walked down the dark city street, only lit by the occasional street lamp.

"Yeah... My Mama and Papa were killed first... My brothers and sisters were taken by the men that killed Mama and Papa... So I ran to get help..." Cat kicked a small rock down the sidewalk as she walked along side Felicity.

"My Daddy and Sissy were all I had. They died trying to keep me safe. Apparently, I'm one of the last witches and I need to survive." Felicity sighed, saddened by the memory of the bloody massacre that took place on the street she lived on. "I saw you, so I followed you, hoping maybe we could be family. We could be sisters."

"Yeah, yeah! We can be sisters together! We can be bestest friends, right?" The tiny neko girl had found happiness in another survivor of the gruesome events that took place.

"Yeah! Bestest friends forever! We'll travel the world together!" The two girls laughed as they walked down the dimly lit sidewalk, hand in hand.

And in this moment we can't close the lids on burning eyes
Our memories blanket us with friends we know like fallout vapors
Steel corpses stretch out towards an ending sun, scorched and black
It reaches in and tears your flesh apart
As ice cold hands rip into your heart

"Hm?" Something shiny in the next alley caught Cat's attention. "What's that? Over there." The two of them ran into the alley to find multiple cardboard boxes filled with what to them seemed like treasures. A small MP3 with a pair if black earbuds, a small black messenger bag with an adjustable strap, two identical Pokemon jackets, and a good chunk of cash, roughly around $200.

"Wow! Cat, this is amazing!!" Felicity exclaimed as she pulled on one of the two Pokemon jackets. She draped the mssenger bag across her shoulder and around her neck, adjusting the strap to fit her. She dropped the money, the MP3, and earbuds into the bag.

"Let's see..." Cat said as she dug through the boxes a bit more. "We've got.. The charger... A notebook and some pencils.... And these two tiny bunny rabbit plushies..." Cat handed Felicity the treasures and pulled on the other Pokemon jacket.

"Let's go find some shelter now." Felicity yawned. "I'm tired..."

That's if you've still got one that's left inside that cave you call a chest
And after seeing what we saw, can we still reclaim our innocence
And if the world needs something better, let's give them one more reason now

Cat and Felicity walked around, stumbling apon a motel on the outskirts of the city. Only a couple cars were parked outside.

"Which door do we pick?" Felicity asked.

"Um..." Cat examined the doors closely. "Number 13. Let's try that one." The two young girls, slowed down by drowsiness, walked up to the door. Felicity gave a couple soft knocks on the door. Cat hid behind her, nervous.

The door opened, and a Japanese woman in around her mid-twenties, opened the door to find the two young girls, nervous at the thought of going to a stranger for help.

"Who are you two and what are poor girls doing out here alone?" The woman made room for the two girls to enter the motel room. Cat and Felicity slowly and hesitantly walked inside.

"She's Cat and I'm Felicity..."
