Chapter 24 - Adoption - Day 1

Nialls POV

The next morning I wake up to an empty bed. I get out of bed throwing on a shirt and shorts, walking out of the bedroom down the stairs I smell pancakes. Ah, I love it! When I reach the bottom of the stairs I see Keilynn sleeping in her swing with her favorite blanket and pacifier in her mouth. I turn the corner walking into the kitchen quietly, I walk up behind Mason wrapping my arms around her waist putting my head on her shoulder giving her a quick kiss on her cheek.

"Good morning Ni"

"Good morning baby girl. How are you?"

"I'm good. How are you?"

"I'm great. I need to ask you something."

"Okay, ask away." Mason put the pancakes on a plate, turning around facing me.

"Since tour is over and we won't be traveling or doing any kinda of promo tour. I was thinking we could talk more about adopting twin boys?"

" We can talk about it while we eat breakfast. How does that sound?"

"Sounds great love."

Mason gives me a quick kiss on the lips before getting two plates down from the cabinet placing an equal amount of pancakes on each of them. She walks over to the table placing the plates down and grabs each of us a fork. I get two glasses down poring orange juice in both setting them on the table.

"Alright Ni, lets talk about this adoption plan. What age did we say we wanted?"

"We agreed with three through five year olds."

"Right, okay. When do you want to start looking?"

"Any day, it could be today if you're okay with that."

"I don't mind, but we need to find a foster home or something like that before we go."

"There's one about forty-five minutes away from here that I've read about and has good reviews."

"Alright then, sounds like a plan."

I was about to say something Keilynn started to wake up. Mason gets up and walks over to Kei, stopping the swing and unbuckling her. She picks her up cuddling her close so she can wake up. Mase brings her over to the table sitting back down. I finished eating, putting my plate in the dishwasher. I sit down beside Mason, who is talking to Keilynn. Keilynn starts to smile up at Mason.

"Here baby, let me take her while you finish eating. "

Mason hands Kei over to me with her blanket. Keilynn cuddles into my chest as I put her blanket over her little legs. She looks up at me with her pacifier in her mouth, and bright blueish green eyes. I lean down giving Kei a kiss on her forehead, then on her nose making her smile a little. Mason finished eating breakfast and put her dishes in the dishwasher.

"I'm going to go grab a quick shower and get ready. Are you okay with her?"

"Alright babe. Yes, Mase we will be fine."

"Okay."

While Mason was in the shower I laid Keilynn down on her little mat with her blanket for a little tummy time and I laid in front of her playing with her.

I heard a camera sound come from behind me. I turn on my side seeing Mason standing on the bottom step with her phone out smiling. She was wearing black jeans with holes, a fitted white V-neck sweater, and a pair of boots that I had bought her when we got engaged. Her hair was down, lightly curled, with a gray beanie, she didn't have a lot of makeup on, just mascara. I stood to my feet and picked up Kei walking over to Mason. I leaned in a kissed my wife on her lips, Keilynn reached up and touched Mason's face making Mase laugh. She leaned down and kissed Keilynn making Kei let out a little squeal, which made us both laughed.

"Come here baby girl, come see momma while daddy gets ready." I gave Kei to Mason.

"I'm going to go get some clothes on and all that jazz."

"Okay, I'll get baby girl ready and her diaper bag."

"Alright baby."

Mason turned around heading up the stairs and I was behind her. Mase went in Keilynn's room and I walked into our bedroom.

Masons POV

I laid Kei on the changing table beside her closet, changing her diaper. I grabbed a cute outfit out changing Kei in it. She wore a white onesie, little pink cardigan, and little pink leg warmers, and a little white booties. I picked her up letting her cuddle into my chest. I check the diaper bag making sure that I had everything we needed. I grabbed the diaper bag from the floor and put it on my shoulder as I turned the light out and shut Keilynn's door. I make my way into Niall and I's bedroom seeing him walk out of the bathroom dressed in light gray jeans, maroon red sweatshirt, hair was up like when he would be at a show, and white shoes.

"We're pretty good looking if I say so myself."

I laugh at Niall's comment.

"I'd have to agree with you."

"Alright ladies. Let's get this show on the road."

I put Keilynn in her car seat which made her fuss a little until I gave her, her pacifier in her mouth and gave her, her blanket. Niall strapped the car seat in closing the door. I jumped in the passenger seat and Niall jumped in the drivers seat both of us shutting out doors.
Niall pulled up the address on his phone.

*45 minutes later*

"Alright baby girl. You ready?"

"I guess.....I'm kinda nervous right now Ni."

"Hey, love it's going to be okay. I promise."

Niall kissed my cheek. He got out of the car shutting the door and opening the back door getting Keilynn out and then shutting her door. I get out shutting my door. Niall grabbed my hand and we started walking to the doors of the adoption center.
