Chapter 9 - Kei's CAT scan

Time went bye, we all just talked and played with Kei. There was a knock on the door, Charlie opened the door and in came a nurse and the doctor.

"Good afternoon ! How are we all?"

"Pretty good, how about you doc?"

"I'm doing good. Nothing major has happened today so far."

"Thats good."

"Haha, yes it is. I came to go ahead and do one last check-up on Mason's foot. And then we will do a CAT scan on Keilynn."

The doctor went over to Masons bed, he sat on the end by her hurt foot. He had her move it and walk around the room.

"Well, Mason it looks like you're healing pretty well. I'm going to have you wear a small brace, but you can still walk."

"Okay, how long do i have to wear the brace?"

"I'm going to have you wear it for the next 2 weeks. It's not a big brace. Just something to help you keep your balance."

"Oh, okay! that's not so bad."

The nurse came over to the bed and put the brace on Mason's foot. Mase got up and walked around, the brace was helping. She went to the bathroom and quickly changed clothes and came back out.

"Alrighty then, now that Mason is good to go we can take Keilynn down to the CAT scan room."

I was holding Keilynn in my arms. She was sound asleep.

"Niall and I can both go with her right?" Mase was so scared for our baby girl. She didn't want her cry or even look like she would cry.

"Yes, Mrs. Horan both of you can go. And if grandparents want to come also, they are welcome."

"Kim and I will walk down there."

We all followed the doctor to the room. Mason was holding Keilynn, I was walking beside Mase with my arm around her waist, the doctor lead the way, Charlie was walking beside Kim with his arm around her waist.

We walked down a few halls and then the doctor stopped at a door and opened it. The room we first walked into was dark and there was 2 computers. Right above the computers was a big glass window. The doctor walked to another door and opened it. It was a big room with a big scanning system, it was also dark. The only light that was on, was coming from the scanning bed.

"Alright Mason, if you could please lay Keilynn down on the bed here and then take off her clothes, but leave on her diaper."

"Okay." Mase did what the doctor asked her too. Kei started to let out little whimpers when the cold air hit her skin. I walked over to her and held out my finger, she gripped on to it. Her little whimpers got louder. Mase tried to calm her down, but it wasn't working. All she wanted was her clothes to be back on and to be back in her mommy's arms.

"It's okay baby girl, daddys right here. It's alright."

I tried to calm her down,but it wasn't working.The doctor asked us to go back into the room with the glass window. I gave Kei a kiss then walked out. Mase was still in the room with Kei. Keilynn is Mason's world. I slowly walked over to Mase. I put my arm around her, she looked at me with glassy eyes, she hated seeing Kei like this. She leaned down and gave Kei a kiss on her noise. Once we were both in the other room I pulled Mase into my chest. She cried on my shirt,but i didn't mind. I laid my chin on her head. We stood there for a while. Mason pulled away and looked up at me.

"Are you alright baby?"

"I'm okay now. Thank you."

"She's fine love. She'll be alright."

I was about to say something, but i got interrupted.

"Mason and Niall."

"Yes doctor?"

"You can go in and get Keilynn now."

Before I could say Thank You Mason was already opening the door to get Keilynn. I walked behind her. When we walked in the room, we heard Keilynn screaming at the top of her lungs. Mason and I quickly walk over to her Mason picks her up and holds her close to her chest. I grab her clothes and help Mase put them back on Kei. Once we had Keilynn dress, we walked out into the hallway. The doctor went to get Keilynn's test results. Mason and I were trying to calm down Keilynn. Charlie and Kim had went to get all of us a drink and some food.
