The next day Leela barged into my house taking my hand.
"Leela!! What are you doing?!" I asked her and she pulled me upstairs to my room.
"Who's this Cadence?" My dad asked as he sipped his coffee walking out of the kitchen.
"Oh.......................my.....................god. Your brother is hot Candance." Leela said stopping on the stair she was dragging me onto.
"Umm, Leela...that's my." I tried to say.
"Ohh, you think I'm hot." Oh god, here we go. "Well thank you pretty lady." My dad said winking at her.
"Ew, really?! That's just so nasty." I said and pulled Leela up the stairs to my room before it go any worse.
"Your brother is like......woah..." Leela said once I closed the door.
"No, that's not my brother. My half-brother is in New York right now and my other brother is taking a nap. THAT was my dad." She took notice of what I had said but obviously didn't care.
"Then your dad is FINE." She said rolling around on my bed. I shook my head laughing at her.
"So what's up?" I asked her and she rolled onto her stomach giggling.
"So I heard you met Ian. Good hunk of man meat isn't he?" Leela asked and I shrugged.
"I don't know." I said sitting down in my rolling chair. "He doesn't seem like my....type." I said cooly and Leela appeared behind me so fast I didn't even see her move from the bed.
"What do you mean? I mean have you seen that face? Or heard that voice? Seriously Denny, he's hot and you know it." She said and I smiled and shrugged a bit.
"Maybe you're right. I suppose he's kind of attractive but....wait did you just call me Denny? Isn't that a dudes name?" I asked her and she laughed as she filled her hands full of my hair.
"No, I think it's fits you quite well. Besides Cadence is kind of long." She said and I narrowed my eyes.
"There's no way you're that lazy." I said darkly. She smiled brightly, her face lighting up. She was really quite pretty. She had dark skin, obviously of African American descent. Her hair was down to her shoulders and was usually curled up. She had beautiful brown eyes that smiled at everything and everyone. "Hmm...what is it about you today? You seem to be glowing." I said and she smiled at me smugly.
"Well...I think Ross is going to ask me out but...You don't want to hear about that." I tackled her onto the bed.
"WHAT?! DO TELL?!" I yelled at her my knees shoved into her stomach.
"O...OHKAY...." She said coughing and then I removed myself from her body. I bounced up and down on my bed like Jules tends to when he bombards my room. She straightened her pants out and her shirt slowly and then took a deep breath in to start. "Well we were at the coffee shop...you know between Vine Street and West 5th Street? You don't know it?" She asked me and I shook my head. She made a noise. "Well then, I guess I'm going to have to take you there one day." She said and my eyes bulged.
"WHO CARES ABOUT COFFEE?! I wanna know about you and Rossy." I said smiling and she grinned.
"Well...Ross was sitting there across from me drinking his coffee and then he looked up at me and started blushing so I asked him what was wrong and he started stuttering and stuff saying that it was nothing. Now I know you've only known Ross for a month now but he doesn't lose his cool very much. Anyways, he cleared his throat and wouldn't look me in the eyes so I asked him if there was anything he wanted to tell me. He coughed again and then finally he asked me that if he wanted to be my boyfriend what would he have to do." She said and started grinning.
