The light shined from the mansion like a beacon, beckoning TonTon towards it. The mansion itself came with marble pillars, fancy windows and oak doors. It was also a very large mansion, seemingly having five or so floors. Finally, TonTon approached and knocked on the door.

At first there was no response. TonTon waited a moment or two and then knocked again. This time, movement was heard and the door was opened not too long afterwards. The door opened, revealing a pale skinned man. He had jet black hair, brown eyes, blue robes with gold trimmings, yet surprisingly shorts. The shorts themselves were blue with gold trim, and showed a pair of completely shaven legs. The man himself looked to be about in his twenties, as compared to TonTon being 16 and a half. After a moment of analyzing TonTon, he spoke, and in a surprisingly quirky accent.

"It appears Life has come to my door after quite some time. Tell me Life, what is your name?" The man asked.

"Err, my name is TonTon. But I go by many other names such as Ton or Tonto or even Lord Ton at times but that's rare." TonTon explained.

"Very well then. My name is Sir Henry Bubblebath. But they call me Bubblebath." Bubblebath said, showing no embarrassment to his name.

"I see. So uhh, what happened to this place to make it such a ghost town?" TonTon asked curiously, trying to not linger on the name Bubblebath lest he start laughing.

"Please please. Save your quizzical questions for tomorrow. You may take rest in any of the abodes in this vicinity. I shall see you when the sun rises, Mr. Ton." Bubblebath said, waving him away.

TonTon stepped down from Bubblebath's doorstep and began wandering around for a home to stay in for the night. After a little bit of looking, he found one to his preference and stepped inside. As expected, there was a cold dead silence inside. He found a mirror on the second story and noticed he was still a bit unruly do to the saliva all over himself.

TonTon immediately cringed and found a bathroom to shower in. Afterwards he made his way into a bedroom with a king size bed.

"It feels awfully weird to use someone's shower and bed, but I suppose it can be accepted. Guardian of the world and all I suppose." TonTon said as he curled up under the navy blue covers and drifted into sleep.

TonTon awoke a few hours later to an indistinguishable smell. He lifted his head sleepily to the smell of smoke. Once TonTon had recognized the smell, he immediately got out of bed and out of the room. Just as he thought, the entire bottom floor was engulfed in flames.

TonTon bolted back into the room as the fire began to spread further and further. He broke it down a bit with wind and water, but there was no sign of an easy end. TonTon then noticed the window next to the bed and opened it. Before the fire could get close, he threw himself out the window.

TonTon used his hands to break his fall, but was quite hurt and found his elemental powers had weakened due to the injury. He then stood up after a couple of moments and watched as the home burned away. Then, something caught his eye. He saw near one of the now shriveled wood supports two sharpened rocks and tiny scraps of paper, partially burnt.

TonTon narrowed his eyes knowing the fire had to have been intentional. He looked up seeing the sun begin to rise and took shelter in the house next door. Hours passed and TonTon had a short but light nap, and awoke again once rested. He felt now was the time to have a chat with Bubblebath.

TonTon again approached his mansion and knocked. A mere two moments afterwards, the door opened.

"Ah, Good Morrow Mr Ton. Have a good sleep now did we? Come in, come in!" Bubblebath exclaimed as he led TonTon to a cherry wood coffee table in his very spacious living room.

"Not exactly. If you hadn't noticed, there's a burnt down house not too far from here, and it just so happened to be where I was sleeping." TonTon said, sitting down.

"Oh that is not well, not well at all I say. But alas, as the saying goes, Ashes to Ashes and Dust to Dust." Bubblebath exclaimed.

"Yeah I would be saying that too but I'm pretty sure it was intentional. I found some sharp flints and shriveled paper nearby, I believe that could be classified as the tools someone used." TonTon elaborated.

"How intriguing. However, you are alive and that is all that is to matter at the end of a day." Bubblebath replied, scratching his nose.

"Oh I almost forgot, exactly how did this town get deserted?" TonTon asked curiously.

"A good question Lad, a good question indeed. A peculiar event. I used to be the protector of this here quaint village. And then one day, under certain circumstances that I'd rather not disclose, they all disappeared. But now, I'm curious about you Mr Ton." Bubblebath said.

"Oh me? Well, I'm the guardian of this here world. I've established Nemo City, NorthEast from the center of the world. I'm also the founder of the new Ton Laboratories, well, I was founder of the old one too until some bad events and now the old laboratories are missing. But yes, I have managers for the new one and they keep it well managed. Other than that, I'm a purifier of cannibals." TonTon said.

"Exquisite Mr Ton. However, I have but a single question. Where did you acquire this alleged title of Guardian?" Bubblebath asked.

"Well, you see, I'm more of a 'Guardian in training'. My dad said that I was before he left." TonTon said.

"Mhm, I see, I see. Interesting swapping tales with you Mr Ton. Now, I have let you take free room and board, so I do foresee a payment back. Would you care to do a minuscule favor for me Mr Ton?" Bubblebath asked, with a very odd glisten in his eyes.

"Umm, sure I guess. What do you need?" TonTon asked.

"Oh it's really nothing much, just a little scouting my good sir! With this little mission, I'll be able to kill two birds with one stone." Bubblebath chuckled, with a hint of evil in his voice.

And so it begins . . .
