Many hours passed as the trio searched for this village Barnes had spoken of. The moon crept into the sky, replacing the drowsy sun. Soon, the stars began to show and the chirps of insects in the night were heard. Ton shuffled uncomfortably in his hoodie as the sky turned dim.
"Ugh. I hate the wilderness." Ton grumbled.
"Ain't that the truth!" Barnes said with a small laugh.
"You get used to it." Ninja said smiling, looking up at the stars.
"Yeah yeah, so you claim." Ton mumbled under his breath as he tugged his hoodie further over his head.
"Where was your outdoor childhood?" Ninja said, rolling her eyes.
"Coming from the one whose childhood was eating people!" Ton scoffed.
"Oh my dad would just kill you at those words!" Ninja said, annoyed.
"And I could beat you now." Ton replied slyly.
"Jeeb la wheeb guys! Stay calm. I don't want you to end up eaten dude." Barnes said, bringing himself in between the two.
Ton took a brief thirty seconds to make an audible skeptical laugh.
"Funny huh?" Ninja glared, eyes flashing red for a second.
"Very." Ton said, glaring right back at her.
"Whatever." Ninja hissed as she rolled her eyes once more.
"Hmpf. That's a win to me." Ton jeered.
"Guys look! I see lights from a town!" Barnes interjected.
"Mhmm." Ninja hummed as she inspected the town from afar.
"Let's get closer then." Ton said, breaking into a speed walk until he came upon some gravel steps leading up to a main road.
"Ehh." Ninja mumbled, not very excited.
"Oh come on now! Show some enthusiasm!" Ton called as he ran up to one of the houses and peered through the window.
"I'm not really a 'City Girl'" Ninja said, stretching.
"Uh huh, sure." Ton nagged.
Suddenly, the door to the house opened up and a villager appeared at the open door. Ninja stopped stretching and Ton just smiled. The villager began to speak in a nervous tone.
"Who are you? You aren't mean people are you?" The villager asked.
"No we aren't. We're just weary travelers" Ton beamed.
"Oh . . . Good." The villager said.
"Yeah, you's met my dad a long while back. You know, Barnes Senior." Barnes added.
"Oh yes! The one with funny hair!" The villager laughed, gesturing to Barnes's extremely gelled up hair, making it have a sleek appearance.
"Yeah . . . So you got any spare guest houses around this here joint?" Barnes asked.
"Why yes. There is one further down the road on the left" The villager said, pointing the way.
"Thanks uhh, what's your name?" Barnes asked.
"Im testificate number 13!" The villager said almost automatically.
". . . Cool. Well thank you then!" Barnes said, stifling a laugh.
"Baii!" The villager called as the three started to travel further down the road.
