Land of the Elves
((Hunter Up Above Chapter))

°Historia's Pov°

After at least two days on the handcrafted raft Luna had made for me sliding along the river, I had reached The Land of Elves.

It was sunny with barely any white clouds at all. There were barely any oak trees but they had plenty of Cherry Blossom and Willow trees. It was beautiful.

I reached over the raft, pulling the boat and my weight towards the edge and took out the rope that came with the boat before hopping off and tying the raft securely to a thick stump.

I grabbed my satchel and my sword, which I put in the holster on my trouser belt. I smiled and took a deep breath of fresh air.

Nice and clear. This might be it... My ideal and serene sanctuary to live. I don't see any down side to this--

I heard the galloping of a horse and looked up, shrugging on my satchel as I watched the white horse charge towards me.

On top of the horse, rode a pointy eared rider with white hair and grey eyes. His skin was tan and he wore a blackish grey armor and wielded a broad sword. Impressive.

"Who dares step foot onto our shore? A human nonetheless! State your claim, or perish trying." The boy sternly spoke, as if he was a mechanical being. When he spoke, he sounded as if he had little to no emotion. I raised and eyebrow before gripping the hilt of my sword tightly. Hell, I don't know if he was a major threat. I saw his grey eyes flicker to my hand and sword and him grab his own sword hilt.

I narrowed my eyes before taking out my sword and placing it on the ground. The boy raised an eyebrow himself as I kneeled and bowed my head respectively.

"I apologize to intrude on your lands, but Luna the moon goddess sent me here. I am in search of peace and sanctuary." I spoke strongly, though my throat was raw from the lack of water I had.

The boy let go of his sword and swung himself off his horse, patting it's head softly. The white haired stranger walked towards me slowly and I raised my head.

"How could I trust you?" The boy asked hesitantly.

I grinned at him before standing. He took a step back and grabbed his sword on instinct. "I wouldn't have placed my sword at your feet if I was a threat."

The boy slowly, but surely, released his grasp on his sword and sighed. "Fine. Follow me then." He turned quickly and saddled up on his horse again, grabbing hold of the reins.

I smothered a laugh when I realized I had no way of transportation and I would have to run to catch up with him. I suppose he didn't think that far huh?

"You must not realize I don't have a stallion. May I ride on yours? With you?" I asked while picking up my sword. The boy glanced at me as he turned around the horse until he nodded without emotion.

I quickly swung myself on the white horses back and put my arms around the boy's waist. I wasn't embarrassed but I'm sure he was because he froze and I saw his cheeks flame red.

Then he whipped the reins and the horse took off through the cherry blossom trees.

As we rode towards wherever this elf was taking me, I decided to start conversation. "So might I know your name?" I asked, watching as he gripped the reins tighter.

"That's confidential." He said monotonously. I frowned and shook my head. Unbelievable.

"Well... My name is Historia. I come from the Terrasis Kingdom in search of a new place to live. Now, that I told you why I'm here and my information, Tell me your name at least." I stubbornly said as he glanced over his shoulder at me. That's when I noticed his scars on his neck and one on his cheeks and chin.

"My name is Hunter." I smiled at him and he huffed in annoyance but I didn't really mind. "So why did you leave? Terrasis.."

I looked at him with a raised eyebrow knowingly. He was loosening up to me. Hunter was beginning to trust me. Good.

"I left because of the torment my village, as well as my own family, brought upon me. And one day, I just had enough and left." I said, frowning by the end of my little speech. It was true. All of it. I hated it in Terrasis for that reason alone. My father was the cruelest of them all.

Hunter saw my saddness but said nothing of it as he climbed off his horse. "We are here." I looked up to see a gigantic castle.

It was white with blue tiled rooftops. The pathway and courtyard were very spacious and white cobblestone were placed neatly onto it.

"Wow..." I gasped in awe. I've never seen a castle so elegant. Hunter chuckled and grabbed my hand to help me down off the horse.

I smiled at him in thanks before walking up the pathway with Hunter following. As we neared the castle, there was two huge statues, one of a man and the other a woman. The man had a beard and a crown on his head and the woman had a crown on her head but held a staff with a sharp pointed jewel.

"Who are they?" I gestured to the statues and looked at Hunter to see him smile.

"Lady Juliana and Sir Fredrick. My parents and rulers of The Land of the Elves." Hunter explained before he grabbed my arm softly and escourted me inside the castle and into, what seemed to be, the throne room.

One throne was occupied by a woman, her hair golden and her eyes a deep blue with tan skin and in a magenta gown. She held the exact same staff that the statue held and the crown was a replica of the statues... This is Lady Juliana.

I bowed my head and kneeled in front of the queen, setting the tip of my sword into the ground.

I heard Lady Juliana stand and pound her staff butt into the ground. I looked up and I saw her eyes blaze with an unknown emotion.

"What do you want?" She hissed. I cringed at her tone and stood up with my sword in it's holster.

"I've come for the search of sanctuary. Luna the moon and Serenity River goddess sent me for information. She believed you can help me." I explained calmly, watching Lady Juliana's soften for a moment until they were hard again with a blazing anger.

"Do you mind... Telling me your name?" She scowled as she sat back down on her throne blankly.
"My name is Historia of the Terrasis Kingdom. Daughter of Maris and Lotus." I introduced myself. I heard several gasps and Hunter pull out his sword.

I looked around in confusion. The queen glared at me and stood up again from her throne, gripping her staff tightly in her palm.

"Maris......" Lady Juliana muttered with venom. What did my father have to do with Lady Juliana?

"Mother, Just because she is in relations to Maris, doesn't mean she is a threat. And she isn't, I can vouch for her." Hunter told his mother comfortinly, though Lady Juliana shook her head furiously.

"Maris's whole family is a threat! Off with her head." She spat at me angrily, making us grow wide with shock.

Hunter's eyes widened and so did mine. O-Off with my head?! I felt my neck softly in fear.

Oh gosh...

I'm going to die...
