Chapter Three

Spencer had me try out many therapists, trying to find one to her liking I guess, but the therapy isn't helping much anyway. I am still very jumpy and the feeling that I am being followed, watched and analysed isn’t helping all that much either.

I had to remember where I was.

I am in a restaurant, with Spencer, a waitress, and everyone else in the restaurant looking at me like I’m some kind of freak and I had absolutely no idea why. This is why I don’t like going out in public nowadays. I always embarrass myself, without even knowing what I did because I am in my own little world, completely oblivious to my surroundings.

That’s when I noticed the waitress still looking at me.

"Are you ready to order yet?" she asked in an irritated voice as I noticed her cropped black hair and dark red-brown eyes which were glaring at me.

I shook my head to clear away the distracting thoughts.

"Yes" I answered and picking off the first thing my eyes saw on the menu I said

"Vegetarian pizza please"

"I'll be right back with that" she growled and stalked away.

That’s when I looked around to see a few people still looking at me oddly.

"Hey, you can stop staring now, the freak show's over." I muttered under my breath.

They all turned around and tried to keep to themselves, but still occasionally stole a glance in my direction. I knew that Spence had heard me but she still kept watching me, and I could see the worry in her big jade green eyes.

Spencer and I look exactly alike, considering we were sisters that is no surprise. We basically have the same face; with the brown eyes, small, rounded nose, high check bones, long eye lashes, pretty much everything. We also have same dark, long, brown hair, and short, slim, bodies (yeah, we were both stuck at being only 168cm tall at the ages of 21 and 22) but people still look at me differently compared to her. Even though each individual feature was almost identical, Spence is Miss-Popular and always looks beautiful, she doesn’t even have to try, me, on the other hand, I am the exact opposite; I am Miss-hide-in-the-corner-and-try-to-stay-out-the-way. I pretty much just keep to myself.

My pizza was placed in front of me and stomach grumbled hungrily, snapping me out of my daze. It looked so delicious and as soon as I noticed Spence digging into her bowl of gnocchi I followed her example.

Anyways… we are always compared, and I despised it, because people usually favoured her.

I wonder what I look like to everyone else I thought. Some damsel in distress, or, maybe just your average freak. The second option seemed more likely, but still, I wonder…

"What are you thinking about?" Spencer questioned

My answer was a shrug.

Spencer leant across the table and whacked me over the back of the head, Gibbs style

"Ouch! What was that for" I whined

"I have an idea!" She exclaimed as if she was about to bounce out of her seat with excitement.

"What" I said with a little bit of her excitement rubbing off on me.

"We are going out tonight"

"We?" I inquired doubtfully but then quickly added "You know I am NOT going so you realise you just hit me for nothing…"

"Yes, you and I ARE going to your friend Jade's party tonight!"

"But…"

"No, no buts! There is no way on earth you're getting out of this! Would it help if I told you there was going to be really hot guys??"

"Nope" I muttered miserably, knowing there was no way I was going to escape the torture to come.

Yay! This will be great fun. I'm going to get another chance to completely mortify myself, again, and the best part is going to be not even knowing what I did that was so embarrassing. Tonight is definitely going to be a night to remember, I just know it.

"Sometimes I wish I could read your mind, and know what you were thinking, it would be quite useful" She mumbled and I can't be positive whether she wanted me to hear her comment or not... If only she knew...
