I sat in my room, studying. It makes me seem like some kind of geek but I've got to get my facts up to date - I'm going to Secondary School, Stonewall High. I'm excited but nervous. I gazed out of the window longingly. I don't know why. It was just so perfect, so dreamy. The cool breeze swept into my room, making the curtains wave madly at me. The trees were all swaying side to side in harmony and the sweet little birds singing their hearts out.

I saw Mr Vernon Dursley, a man who lives in 4 Privet Drive, the house just opposite mine (5 Privet Drive). He is quite fat (I don't mean to be rude!), had no neck and he has small piggy eyes. His wife, Petunia Dursley had twice the amount of neck and she kept using it to crane over the fence that divided the two gardens. I think she was looking at Mindy's Sun flower. It's incredibly tall. They also have two sons, one called Dudley, very fat and another one who I don't know much about. I don't know his name. I always seen him doing work in the garden. His figure is much different from the rest of the Dursleys. He's skinny and quite fast too. I've never seen his face but I get a tingle on my scar whenever I see him. I really don't hope I'm falling in love. I don't even know him!

Something landed on the Dursley's roof. I looked to see and it was an owl. I swear they're nocturnal. They are- aren't they? Another owl landed next to that one- and another- and another. My eyes widened to see owls all over there, and from what I could see, all over Privet Drive too. I decided to go and have a look, just because I'm restless and interested. I left the house after quickly informing Mindy, who was reading. I saw Mrs Figg, a kind old lady who lives two streets away, on her crutches. She had broken her leg some time ago by tripping over one of her cats.

"Hi Mrs Figg," I called to her cheerfully "What's wrong with the owls?"

"Nothing," she said "Have you not been getting your Daily Prophet?"

"What?"

Daily Prophet? I'm sure that was something Sirius told me about - but I'm not so sure. She hobbled away, her face pale and her eyes wide. I frowned. What was with her? I sighed and decided to get back to studying. I sat down at my desk.

I blinked then resumed staring straight out of my window. Then a dot appeared in the sky. It grew bigger, and bigger, and bigger. It was then the size of a pin - a glue-stick lid - a tennis ball - a football and then it grew wings. It looked like an owl. Good lord- it seemed to be heading right towards me. I scooted backwards. The owl had a note clamped in it's beak. It was a sort of yellow-ish paper. However, It didn't enter my room, it swooped down and dropped the letter, which flew straight through my letter-box. I gaped at the owl, slowly disappearing into the fluffy clouds. I raced downstairs and then sure enough, there lay on the doormat, a letter made out of yellow parchment.

I stood still, staring at the letter in shock. It took a few moments for me to register what had just exactly happened.

"What the hell just happened!" I said, finally. Bit too late!

I took the letter, which was made of a  with trembling hands and read the address written in emerald green ink: Miss D. Potter, Smallest Bedroom, 5 Privet Drive, Little Whinging, Surrey.

"Well that's a strange address," I said out loud.

I turned the letter over to find a bright purple seal bearing a coat of arms, a lion, eagle, snake and a badger. They were all surrounding a big H. I tore open the letter immediatley and sat on the stairs to read it. On the very top read, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I gaped at it. It's the school  Sirius told me about - I'm in!

Dear Miss Potter,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You will find enclosed a list of all necessary items and equipment. Term begins on 1st September and we shall await your owl no later than July 31st.

Yours sincerely,

Minerva McGonagall

Fancy that- July 31 is my birthday. Await my owl?

"MINDY! RICK!" I screamed

They both came running into the hall.

"Yes was that the post I heard?" asked Mindy. I held up my letter and she took it into her delicate hands. She read it and frowned. "Dani, darling, is this not what you used to talk about non-stop before?" I nodded, blushing slightly. I guess I did talk about it a lot. "And it's real?" I nodded again. There was a knock at the door. Seeing as I was closest to the door, I opened it. There stood a man with half-moon glasses, long white hair and beard and robes. I stared at him. He smiled down over those glasses and I felt as though I was being surveyed.

"Sir can I help you?" said Mindy, coming forwards and putting her hands onto my shoulders.

"Good afternoon," he said in a calm voice "I am Albus Dumbledore, headmaster of Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Ah, I see this must be Danielle."

"Y-y-yes sir," I mumbled

 "Come in," Rick said politely.

The man stepped into our house, Mindy shutting the door behind him.

"You see I was very curious to see why an owl was going to deliver your letter," he said "I always thought you had died along with your parents." He spoke softly and gently. "But here you are, alive and well. Tell me, have you been in the care of this loving couple for all your life?"

"No sir, I was found in the ruins of my house by a man called Sirius who brought me up and looked after me," I answered "One day he just walked out and never returned. I went looking for him and I was found and put into an orphanage where eventually I was adopted by Mindy and Rick." He listened to my every word.

"And did this Sirius tell you his surname?" he asked

I shook my head.

"He just told me he was my Dad's best friend and told me about the magical world."

"I see, and did he tell you about how the tragic death of your parents happened?" I nodded. Mindy, confused, invited him to our living room. He told me about how my brother had lived opposite me with the Dursleys, who actually are my relatives. He also told me that a man called Hagrid was taking me to get my Hogwarts things with Harry. I beamed. Apparently, the Dursleys and Harry had evacuated the house due to it being full of letters as they wouldn't let Harry open one. They had gone to some hut on a rock way out to sea.

I felt a rush of excitement go through my veins. I would finally get to see my brother! Finally!
