"tell it again, momma, that ones my favorite" the small child smiled from her spot in the bed.

"i thought you said the story i told you last night was your favorite?" her voice rose in question, holding back a laugh at her daughter's enthusiasm.

"oh, but this one is my favorite of all the stories you've ever told. and i didn't know it would be. i like this one the best. one more time please mom" she dragged out the please and gave her mother the 'puppy-dog-eyes'

"no, sweet heart, it's too late." her mother kissed her on the forehead gently and fixed the covers as she rose from her chair.

"saying goodnight?" the father stepped in now. he'd obviously been listening quietly to the mother tell their daughter the story. he stepped in and wrapped his arms around the mother from behind.

"yes, we were. your daughter enjoyed the story i told her."she whispered the last part, quiet enough that only he could hear.

"i'm sure she did." he smiled his beautiful smile. "goodnight, my sweet baby girl" he tore himself away from his wife and kissed his daughter's cheek.

"goodnight" she smiled at both of her parents. they turned to leave the -pink princess decorated-room.

he had his hand on her back as he was escorting her to the door. the daughter made them stop in their tracks.

"that was your story wasn't it? your love story?" the two parents nodded. they turned to each other with the biggest of smiles on their faces. "it's beautiful."

"just like your mother."

and once again they stared straight into each others eyes' and saw the trues beauty either had ever seen. especially behind each of their eyes. especially, knowing each others stories.

once again they were lost in the beauty of each other.
