it hadn't been too long since he's seen grace but cameron was unable to focus. there's a beauty behind those sad eyes and he wanted to know what it was.

he told himself not to get attached to her.

she told herself not to fall for him.

but for some reason they both were being driven insane without the other.

she knew he would leave.

he knew he would be leaving her.

during her dinner grace barely ate, too obsessed with the possibilities of why he seemed so numb.

Cameron spent his entire evening with his thoughts. he tried to drown them out with sounds to no avail. he told himself not to shower as it would bring on another wave of thoughts.

he'd tried for hours to forget, using the gym in the place he was staying at.

by the time the sweat was pouring from his body, and his knuckles were bloody from punching the bag, a man came up to him.

the man sat down and watched as cameron punched as hard as he could. his muscles ached but he didn't stop.

"you ever consider boxing as a career?" the man spoke up. cameron paused for a moment and glanced at the man. he swallowed, shaking his head, then punched again before answering.

"no sir." he punched again. the man was nodding in the background. the clock neared midnight and when it turned to the closing time the man spoke again.

"it's time for this place to close. you done?"

cameron shook his head. he knew he wasn't. he felt he never would be done. the sudden urge to punch the man instead came. he denied himself the pleasure of stopping the onlooker.

"meet me at 4:00 am sharp and I'll teach you how to punch like a pro. "

and that was how the next morning after bandaging his knuckles for the second time that day, he was working once again at a flower shop.
