"Oh Bruce! Gosh I keep messing this up. I mean, after you left the library Steve wouldn't stop asking me questions about you. If he was gay, I'd say he had a crush on you." My eyes flicked wide open as my mind shot back to the moment he locked eyes on mine in the library. He had blushed and looked embarrassed. I presumed that was because he wasn't used to kissing but maybe it was because...

"Ok I need to head off soon so I'm going to be very open and frank with you." I gulped, not knowing what she was heading towards. "Do you like me?" I was surprised and said yes quickly. "No I mean more than a friend..." I shuffled my feet on the soil below the bench, trying to think of the right thing to say. "I don't know how to answer that; I've never liked someone that way before, let alone kissed someone." She sighed quietly and picked up her bag. I did the same as she began to walk away.

I was about to say goodbye when she kissed me softly on the lips, holding me close to her with her free hand. It was an amazing feeling but, for some reason, it didn't feel quite right. She broke away and smiled shyly at me. "I like you Bruce," she whispered. Lucky for her, she wasn't too shy about these things!

"Well uh, what about Clint? And Steve?" She giggled and shook her head. "Clint is controlling about my safety and my whereabouts, and Steve was in the right place at the right time. Plus he seems to care a bit too much about his perfect hair to be totally straight..." She winked at me and walked out of the park.

I got home on time and my Mum let me use my computer before dinner. I went onto my social media and looked up nat. When I found her, I looked on her friends list to find the new Steve boy. Sure enough, he was there. "Steve Rogers," I said to myself. "Such a normal name." I sent him a friend request, just so I could say sorry for the library incident. I had my dinner and then checked the website again. To my surprise, he had accepted. I sent him a message saying "Sorry about interrupting you and Nat earlier. I hope I didn't make things too awkward?"

What I didn't realize, was that he was online at the same time as me so he started replying to my message near instantly. "No that's fine, really. I mean, I didn't really have a choice. Nat's a nice person and all but. Oh I don't know. Sorry." I was intrigued so I talked to him for a bit more.

"Do you not like Nat then?""Well she's a good friend but not to kiss...""Oh, I agree, but I still can't help thinking about her.""Haha I understand.""Sorry, I'm not quite sure why I told you that!"

We carried on talking for the next couple of hours until I had to go to bed. We arranged to meet in the library during lunch. We did this over the next four months. We would talk on social media or by text for the entire evening, and then we would meet up in the library and have a laugh. Sometimes Nat came with us. On one such meeting precisely four months after meeting Steve, Nat announced she had dumped Clint.

"Wow that's amazing! Congratulations!" I said, happy for her. Steve nodded in agreement and pointed at me. "What he said!" She laughed and thanked us both. I was sat on my usual seat and Steve decided to sit on top of me. This would have been fine if he was light or smaller than me, but he was 6'2" and was also muscular so I couldn't help but be squashed by him.
