Arabella went through the hall and right when she took one step into the hallway, another blonde girl had waited for her. What's with blondes in Heaven? The girl guided her through the hallway. It was high up top from a secret building that was made underground, and was covered on the top with glass, the bottom being steel. All around there were bright white lights that were on the ceilings. Girls and boys were everywhere, dressed in all white eating lunch, walking around, some even new to this environment.
Arabella wasn't sure of what was going to happen to her, but she had to find Adeline, someone who she knew first.
"Right this way Ms.Lancaster," the blonde escorted me down the staircase. She got many absurd looks from teenage girls, boys.
Was it the way I dressed?
That was when passed one table where four boys were at. Out of all of them, I had made contact with one with bright blue eyes. He was tan, and his hair was brown and short, and was about two inches long. The boy looked about Arabella's age which she liked, but maybe he could have been older. His fingers tapped against the table beside his tray of food while he gazed at her. He must have thought she was beautiful. Many of the guys in this place think she's gorgeous. To Arabella, this guy seemed to catch her eye and she wanted to know his name. It looked like time went slower than usual while she passed.
Arabella was lead through a hallway with a glass window to view the cafeteria to a room filled with bunk beds. She assumed it was where most of the girls slept. Most of them looked undone, except two.
"Why would I stay here?" Arabella thought. She sat down and the blonde lady began to explain why she was here.
"Today we'll give you a test run. Tomorrow, when there is approval you will be able to be sent back to earth as a new person."
Arabella furrowed her eyebrows as her stomach slowly started churning, I like the way I am now. She questioned, "What do you mean by that?"
The lady laughed and only ignored the question, "Lunch is going to be served so just wait." With that, she left and when Arabella went to follow her she disappeared.
"I forgot... This place is like magic," Arabella thought for a second, and walked out for lunch.
She wanted to see that boy again. He looked a bit familiar like she's seen him from somewhere during her time being alive. She stood in line for her turn to get food and noticed the boy with blue eyes again. She then walked back to the lunch tables and sat by herself eating.
The four boys were whispering to each other like Arabella couldn't hear them.
"She looks cute," was all she heard or "I haven't seen one of those in weeks."
Arabella continued eating her food, finishing quickly. Once she got up to put her tray away and going back to sit down, and one of the boys tugged onto her arm firmly and she stood there in awe.
"Sorry," the Asian guy chuckled to himself. "But would you like to sit with us?" Blue-eyed Boy looked relaxed with inviting Arabella to their table.
"I'm Luke," the blue-eyed boy introduced himself. He had smooth tan skin and short brown hair. He was tall as well.
The next boy was African American, slightly chubby but seemed to manage having muscle as well, "Nice to meet you. I'm Albert."
The second one, was Asian and had golden skin, with black medium-short hair, "The name's Christian, but call me Chris."
Lastly, a boy with brown hair and fair skin, but he seemed confident, "My name is Noah, nice to meet you."
"My name is Arabella," she said and took a sip of water, "You guys caught my attention earlier so I sat nearby. Just thought you guys should know."
"Well it's a pleasure to meet you Arabella," Luke gave a warm smile. Out of all these people it seemed to be Luke she liked best.
Chris laughed, "It looked like you guys found love at first sight."
"No," Luke muttered embarrassed, "she happened to look like I've seen her before."
Arabella sighed while listening to her new friends talk about girls and their random apologizes over nothing. That was when James turned to Arabella and decided that maybe he should be speaking to her about some things.
Luke began to speak, "I was so close to remembering your face, but it just faded away."
"You'll remember me soon I believe," she smirked.
One of the doctors came through that hallway and took Adeline away. She and Arabella made eye contact and before she knew it, five more names were called up. "Chris, Noah, Albert, Luke, and Arabella." All five of them stood up and followed the doctors passing the two big doors that opened up just for them. It was kept secure just in case someone had tried to come in.This place was full of strictness
It is, isn't it
The British voice was jammed into Arabella's head. It seemed like he said something out loud. All she could do was look at him weirdly as he had a crooked smile. How did he do that? Was it in my mind? Or did he actually say that?
"Did you say something?" She inquired hoping for a yes.
Luke snickered and folded his arms once more, "Telepathically I suppose." All five of them were lead into a big room where many teenagers were being tested once more. Arabella sat down on a comfortable table. The wait seemed endless until she heard footsteps. In came a brunette. She looked like she was in her thirties and wore a white coat holding a kit in her hand. She set it down and then began to take out syringes, mixing liquids which she connected to the needle.
"What's that?" She asked curiously and feared that it could kill her.
The lady laughed, "Relax Arabella. This is just a vaccine, and also a blood test." Arabella could see right through her and already noticed that she was telling the truth. For an hour she was tested on sight, hearing, physical activity.
Tired, Arabella trudged back to the bunk beds seeing many girls sitting down talking to each other. Maybe I could find Adeline, she thought. Some of the girls looked at her weirdly, and others not even looking at all. Very few exchanged smiles and followed Arabella to her bed which she left her folded change of clothes on.
"Excuse me," a brave voice stood out and tapped Arabella on the shoulder. She turned around seeing a girl with nappy black-colored hair put up in a neat bun. There stood one more girl who was blonde and then Adeline stood next to them, "Let me introduce myself to you. My name is Amanda. I saw you earlier during lunch time in the auditorium. You were with four boys? I'm the sister of Albert."
Arabella nodded her head and stuck out her hand expecting to shake her new friend's hand as well, "My name is Arabella." Luckily, Amanda returned the handshake.
"This is Lexis and I heard about you through Adeline," she began, "We overheard some of the doctors talking about your arrival and here you are now." A small snicker rose from Lexis.
Adeline began to sit down on Arabella's bed, "So you're the special one everyone was talking about?"
She nodded her head slowly, "Yeah."
"You sure don't look special," she grumbled and left.
Lexis rolled her eyes, "Sorry about her. She's just a little jealous."
"It's all good," Arabella laughed and glanced at Adeline who was smiling.
Hours passed till dusk occurred. Arabella sat down thinking about how Luke had spoke in her mind and the test runs. Hopefully by tomorrow there will be a better chance.
Luke laid in his bed hoping that maybe he would be able to see Arabella again. He kind of liked her. Chris stared at him weirdly, "Are you okay Luke? You look like you're gonna faint from all that happiness."
"Of course, mate," Luke hit his shoulder aggressively, "Just thinking."
"About that girl he met today," Albert joked around.
He shook his head, "No, I just heard her voice in my head that's all."
