"I thought he'd be dead," Arabella muttered to Chris as they walked down the hallways of the new kingdom. Her hands were shaky and they both opened the door to the library at once. "We have to meet him here."
Chris questioned, "What's a library anyways?"
Alex requested that they meet with him then and there. The young man stood in front of a big table where many books were neatly stacked, some open and left in few tables.
"Arabella and Chris it's good seeing you two," a woman this time had went up to them. The same lady that was sitting next to Cameron while eating dinner together.
Arabella furrowed her eyebrows and walked up towards her as she spoke, "I've never gotten your name."
"You forgot about it," she mentioned with a sly smile, "It's Mary."
She nodded her head, "Okay Mary. But we have some business to do here." Arabella wasn't as comfortable working with people, especially the ones who'd abandoned her when in need of help. Chris only patted her shoulder gently and followed Alex and Mary to the table once more.
"Tomorrow you and your group of friends are going to get a taste of what it's like to be in a laboratory," Alex smirked and crossed his arms, "And your training will begin tomorrow. You will be tested to your abilities, and see how well you can perform because there's definitely something about you guys."
Chris looked over his shoulder seeing Arabella hiding behind. She seemed a bit occupied, and didn't pay attention to what Alex was saying.
Luke sat up from his bed, it's been hours since he's recovered. Surprisingly, he had found no more pain as his feet touched the tile flooring.
His wounds felt much better, a lot more than the first night withstanding the pain. They'd done surgery on him, and he only remembered the kiss Arabella left on his lips, the taste still lingering. He needed to find her. As hard as he tried, his eyes were squeezed shut and made every letter form hopefully being transferred into Arabella's head.Where are you? I need to hear from you.
He waited a moment. Nothing. Suddenly it sounded like she opened the door for a moment, her voice sounded near except she wasn't.
Luke! I'm in this library. Be prepared for tomorrow, we have a long day ahead of us. I'll see you soon?
Please.. See you laterArabella shook her head as Chris was poking her "Are you here? Or somewhere else?"
"I'm here," she muttered quietly and then focused her eyes on Alex one more time, "And what about you sister? My best friend?"
He glanced at the others in charge of the lab, then back to her, "We're still finding them-"
"It's not hard finding two girls. Especially when one is supernatural," Arabella pushed past people, her eyes slowly changing a different color this time. Chris lifted his palm and smacked his forehead with embarrassment and disappointment. He was quite confused of the situation but never said a word after Arabella. The entire room fell to dead silence. No one spoke, mentioned or moved.
Alex broke the ice, "Get prepared for tomorrow. You two may leave now."
Chris walked close to Arabella down the hallways as he was questioning her left and right, smothering the shame and embarrassment on her, "Why did you do that? Or most importantly how? I mean I've known you for a while now but seriously? And I hope you know that you didn't have to embarrass us like that."
"Chris," she stopped in her tracks with annoyance crossing her brown eyes, "Sorry but I don't know how it happened, and I don't really care. Maybe we'll find out tomorrow." He just rolled his eyes then continued walking beside her. It was around lunch time already, and Chris had parted from Arabella who was wandering all alone in the palace. She noticed how beautiful it was surrounding the palace. Of course she'd never want to leave, nor would she want to start over again.
As Arabella turned to the next corner, she ran into a person's buff chest. His hand covered her mouth as she gasped, but she looked up seeing Liam again. "Wanna see something cool?"
"Hell yeah," she smirked, and with that the two of them ran down many of the marble staircases. Liam held her hand tightly as he guided her to the garden. The sunlight shone through the leaves that covered the garden. Colorful flowers were randomly planted left and right, soft grass around the area. Then there was a creek up ahead with the water flowing, a small waterfall that pushed the mist towards the grass. The two of them stopped as they listened for the first time, hearing birds chirping and the silence of all their surroundings. The gentle wind hit the leaves which bristled against each other. Liam admired of how much beauty Arabella had. She looked around with amusement and a bright smile that spread across her face. For once, he was relieved that they could finally be alone together again.
"So what do you think of this place?" he walked forward to her as she finally noticed him after staring at the scenery. His hands were in his pockets, shoulders relaxed.
She glanced at him and grinned, "Beautiful. Very beautiful actually."
"I know its kind of the wrong time to say anything, but I've honestly liked you ever since I met you. And I've been getting so many memories about us from the past," he chuckled quietly to himself. Arabella was confused by the overwhelming feelings as he kept speaking word for word, "I don't know why I'm admitting it. I guess its because I had some hope that you would feel the same way."
Her heart raced from the agitation and relaxed for a split second, "I do feel the same. I just thought you knew by now."
