"We'll write a song that turns out the lights when both boy and girl start suddenly shaking inside. Don't close your eyes, speed up your breathing, just close your eyes..."
SONG: SECRET VALENTINE
ARTIST: WE THE KINGS
"I could go to jail," Calum panicked and stepped into my apartment while Brianna did some homework. I was sitting on the couch, writing a song and she looked up only for a few seconds before returning to her work and eating the pile of oreos sitting beside her books.
"Why?" I asked, glancing at Brianna and watching her take apart her oreo, lick it and then put it back together to eat it. "Wait, is this about Lo?"
"Yeah, it's about Lorena," Calum panicked and paced back and forth. "She's seventeen."
I sighed. "Who cares?"
"I do," Calum huffed. "I'm nineteen."
"She's going to be eighteen in like ten months, plus, you guys aren't that famous yet," Brianna mumbled and grabbed another oreo. "She's Kinda Hot barely made it to the top one hundred."
"So? She's--"
"Get over it," I told him. "She's mentally older than she looks. Just stop worrying about age and start worrying about how we're going to promo this fucking album."
Calum rolled his eyes and sat down in the arm chair. "Don't you have your own house, Bree?"
"Apartment, and yes, but it's too far away and it's easier for Luke and I to have sex on the arm chair you're sitting on,"
Calum scowled and stood from where he was sitting and then smirked. "You cannot have taken away his virginity. He's still way too awkward around you."
Brianna spilled her milk. "What?"
"Calum," I seethed and tried to fight the bright red in my cheeks. "I haven't told her."
"You haven't had sex?" Brianna asked, closing her book and looking at me as I played with my thumbs. "Luke."
All I could focus on was the milk. The sight of the spill was going to bug me until it was cleaned up.
"Yes, I'm a fucking virgin. I would have sex, but I was too busy dealing with my mum dying and then dealing with her being dead, and then I was dealing with me wanting to die, and then I was in the hospital dealing with almost being dead, and then I was dealing with my depression and anxiety. I was never given the honor of being fucked in some sketchy bedroom with people below binge drinking until all they can remember is if they had gotten another drink or not."
"And this is my cue to leave," Calum mumbled and left the apartment. I hated him at the moment for making it all so awkward.
Brianna sighed and brought herself to sit on the edge of the couch. She was frowning, fingers running over the bare skin of my shoulder, eyes following her movements until she was looking directly into the blue of my eyes.
"Sex isn't a big deal right now," She assured me and cupped my face. "Sex isn't going to be the defining factor between us. You're my boyfriend and I want you because you're everything that I wish life had given me earlier."
I exhaled and leaned forward, kissing her tenderly. "I want to be good for you."
"And you will be, Luke. Virginity is just as a big to a boy as it is a girl, I promise. If you're not ready, I'm more than happy to wait," She told me and kissed me again.
But I didn't care about my virginity. I cared about being good enough in bed for her.
My hands came to cup her face, my fingers gripping the strands of hair as she whimpered and brought herself to sit on my lap. Slowly, my mouth came to kiss down her chin, teeth dragging over her jawline as I move my hands to pull her shirt over her head.
