Walking up on stage, I could hear the fans dreaming and chanting my name. I got into position and waited for the music to start. I could feel the rhythm, the beat pounding in sync with my heart. A smile creeped up my lips. This was my time. This was my territory.
Once the first song was finished, the performances continued for hours until the concert was done. I walked off stage, waving to my fans with a smile on my face. The staff handed me water and wiped the sweat off of my face. I didn't really pay attention as my only thought was to go home and sleep.
My feet automatically brought my to the waiting room while my brain was shutting off. I love seeing my fans and performing and all, but it can really take a toll on a person's body. I don't even remember how I got changed or how I was already outside of the concert hall, getting into my ride home.
Just as I was about to nod off, I felt my phone vibrating in my pants pocket. I answered without looking at the ID.
"Hello?" I could hear the tiredness in my own voice.
"Hello my dear niece! How was the concert? Was it fun?" What an energetic person even though it's 2 o'clock in the morning.
"Hey Auntie. The concert went smoothly, nothing went wrong. The tickets were sold out, light sticks, and other merchandise. Good profit if you ask me. I'll give you a full report tomorrow—in a few hours."
I could hear her clicking her tongue on the other line. "No, no, no. I asked did you have fun, not a book report! Now let me ask again; did you have fun?"
A sigh left my lips but a smile replaced my previous frown.
"Yes Auntie, I had a lot of fun."
Instead of hearing her usually strong voice, I heard a soft and sweet, " I know you did," in my ear.
We talked until I saw my large apartment complex come into view. Opening the door to my house, I didn't even greet my maids back as I made a beeline to my bedroom. Not even bothering to change, I collapsed into my bed, welcoming the darkness.
Mia's POV
A ring escaped from my phone while I read the report on Ai's concert from the staff. It was a message from on of her maids. Opening the application, I saw a picture of my niece spread all over her bed, outside clothes still on. Her silvery-white hair is tousled and her mouth slightly open. How cute.
I leaned back into my chair as I thought about how her day might turn out tomorrow. She might not socialize with anyone and just sleep in class or practice.
What a shame that she turned out like this. She used to be so open and cheerful. My eyes traveled to one of the many pictures on my desk. It showed a beautiful women with long brown hair and soft brown eyes. A sigh left my lips.
"Why did you have to leave?"
