The night awoke me,
It was so sound, so silent,
But then I heard what I never thought I'd hear,
A gun shot,
It was near,
It wasn't far away,
No...
It was near me,
A gunshot,
Is what I heard,
Off in the distance maybe...?
No...
It was right here,
A gunshot,
Is what I heard that night,
I held my breath,
An counted to 10,
"Don't come any closer..." I had said,
But I fear as if I am too late,
A gunshot to the head,
I'm finally dead,
It was in the distance,
An it drew closer,
I held my breath,
Said goodbye,
An with that,
Put a bullet through my head,
A single gunshot,
Clean through.
