Chapter 5: Competition

The rest of the week seemed to fly by fast. Aspen was sitting at the lunch table with Keaton when her phone started buzzing.

-Mom

Don't forget tomorrow is Jordyn's gymnastics competition. Bring a friend if you want.

Aspen didn't even think twice before opening her mouth.

"Hey Keaton! Want to go with me to my sisters gymnastics competition this weekend?"

"Sure! I need a weekend away from the crew anyways. Where is it at so I can talk to my mom?" He replied

"In LA.. I'm not exactly sure yet, but you can just ride with us and I'll bring you back home when it's over." Aspen smiled

The bell rang and lunch ended. Aspen got up and said she would text Keats the details later. She made her way to the courts and got suited up for practice.

"Hey, what are you doing this weekend?" Tanner asked

"I have Jorydn's gymnastics competition, why?"

"Forget that! One of the baseball players is having this dope party this weekend. You should bail on your sisters competition and go with us."

"Sorry, I promised Jordyn I wouldn't miss it, but thanks for the offer!" Aspen smiled and took her place on the court for warm-ups.

After two hours of practice Aspen finally walked through her front door ready to collapse. Right when she was heading to her room Jordyn appeared and wanted her attention.

"Come help me practice Asp!! I know you can still do some tricks." Jordyn begged

"Jord! I just had volleyball practice for two hours, I'm completely worn out."

"Please!!!!!"

"Fine but only for ten minutes." Aspen said walking to the gym.

Both girls pulled out the mats and started stretching. Jordyn went first and landed a round off. Aspen followed up with a round off back hand spring. Aspen couldn't believe she could still flip like that. Jordyn took off running doing a round off back hand spring an ended with three flips. Aspen stood there amazed by her little sister, she threw her hands up in defeat and continued watching Jordyn practice. After an hour of Jordyn flipping around their parents came down to get them for dinner. As soon as dinner was over Jordyn was sent to bed and Aspen went to shower. When she got out it was only 10 and she wasn't even close to being tired. Aspen grabbed her phone and saw a text from Wesley.

Hey you :) whaddup?

-Aspen

Just got out of the shower lol. Thinking about going to the theater and watching a movie. What are you doing?

While she waited on him to respond she pulled on a pair of shorts and a sports bra. She grabbed a hoodie just in case and walked downstairs to the theater. She had just finished popping popcorn and turning on 21st Jump Street when he replied.

Want company? Keaton is at his friends and Drew is with Tanner.

-Aspen

I guess lol. How long till you get here?

-Wesley

Ummm... I'm kind of already here. I was with Drew earlier and they decided to go out and so I figured I would see what you were doing.

-Aspen

Come around the side of the house to the sliding door. I'll meet you there in a minute.

She rolled her eyes and threw her phone on the couch before walking out and going to the pool entrance. Right as she got there Wesley appeared. She slowly opened the door and let him slip in before shutting and locking it. As they walked back to the theater room Wesley snorted causing Aspen to stop dead in her tracks.
