Chapter 10: Wesley?

Aspen checked the time on her phone and still had an hour till she had to meet Wesley. She's literally drove herself insane trying to figure out what he has planned for them. She glanced at her phone again and decided to head home and pack a bag for the night, she hoped to avoid her parents.

"Aspen? Is that you?" her father called.

"Yeah, I'm only here go to get some clothes. I'm staying at Tanner's again." Aspen stormed up the stairs to avoid anymore questions. She grabbed her duffel bag and started shoveling random items in it. When she moved onto outfit choices she grabbed her phone and shot Wes a text.

Hey Wes... I need to know what kind of clothes to pack. Can I have a hint? :)

While she waited for his reply she changed into her new turquoise bikini and slipped on her strapless sundress. Aspen had just finished hooking her sandals when her phone dinged. 

-Wes

Shorts, tank, t-shirt, dress... anything you want to wear tomorrow. Definitely need a bikini for tomorrow morning. See you soon :)

Aspen rolled her eyes and threw her phone on her bed. She decided to grab everything he listed off and just decide tomorrow. As soon as she finished zipping her bag, Aspen looked around to make sure she wasn't missing anything and left her room. Just as she reached the bottom step her father reappeared.

"So, if you're staying at Tanner's why are you so dressed up?"

"Cause, we're going on a double date tonight with Drew and Wesley."

Aspen dropped her bag and dug in her purse till she found her second pair of keys to her jeep. Her dad gave her a questioning look and before his eyes saw her neck. 

"Aspen Amelia Bartlett."

Aspen froze. She knew he must have seen the hickeys that Wes had left on her. She pulled her hair back around her shoulders and just stood there. Her father looked her up and down, and his eyes got wider. 

"Did you sleep with him?"

Aspen stood there pondering on how to reply while her father kept yelling. 

"DAD!!! Are you going to let me speak or keep yelling?"

Her dad stopped in mid-sentence and waited for her to continue.

"No, we did not have sex. Yes, we made out and started fooling around but stopped before anything happened. Now if you don't mind, I'm going to walk away and get the jeep so that Tanner and I can go meet our dates. Good night daddy."

Aspen bent down and grabbed her bag, she didn't even look at her dad as she walked away. She felt bad about lying to him but she remembers what happened when he found out about her and Landon, so lying was the best option. Aspen chunk her bag in the backseat and started her baby. 

"Oh how I've missed you." Aspen hummed to her jeep. 

She backed out and headed to Wes's. Aspen went to change the song when her phone started ringing. 

"Hello?"

"Hey Aspen!"

"Kiley?"

"Yeah... How are you?"

"I'm fine. Why are you calling me? It's like 1 am there."

"I know, but I saw you changed your relationship status and wanted the details! I miss you Asp, I want us to go back to the way we were."

"Kiley, I love you like a sister but things will never be the same. You slept with my ex boyfriend, who you knew I still had feelings for. If I didn't move, I would probably have gotten back with Landon like he wanted too. But look, I just got to my boyfriends house and need to go. I'll text you tomorrow and we can talk. Bye Ki."
