Darkness

The darkness started off small,
Just little bad thoughts,
And a little less love,
But it didn't stop there,
Oh no, it grew,
Into a monster so big,
It couldn't be true,
It consumed all the happy,
All the colors turned gray,
It took away my voice,
And stored it away,
My smile had to be forced,
And my laughs came to much,
For I couldn't let anyone know,
The monster I have inside,
Has taken its toll,
In my very weak soul,
And the darkness has seeped,
Into my eyes.
