Chapter 12

Paige sat next to Beck remembering the last fight they had together. She pulled off her disk and spun the memories until she found the fight on her favorite spot in Argon. The spot where she got told by the renegade that he was fighting for her too. Why did I say I'm fighting for Clu? That's one of the stupidest things I could have ever said. Especially after what he did to my friends, I can't live like this anymore

Mara walked in and stopped when she saw Paige sitting next to Beck. She was about to go back out when Paige suddenly looked up with tears in her eyes.

"Hey you okay?"

"Not really," Paige said trying to wipe away her tears.

"Do you want to talk?" Mara was trying to make conversion so it wouldn't be so awkward.

"Not really,"

"Paige you have to talk about it sometime and if you don't Beck might derezz himself and you won't think straight when you try to fix his code."

"I DON'T NEED YOU TO CHECKING UP ON ME!" Paige snapped and stormed out of the room pushing over Zed, not really caring he was there.

"What's wrong with Paige?" Zed looked at Mara in confusion.

"Paige was in tears and I tried to get her to talk but she ended up storming out of the room."

"I know you were just trying to help but right now she just needs a little bit of space, and when she's ready she will bring things into the light. Who knew Beck had a program that had a crush on him?" Zed gave a small smile and then pulled Mara into a hug as they watched Beck's breathing drop a little then pop back up again to normal.

"*sigh* Fine, I'll leave her alone for now."

... Beck's Mind ....

"Wake up Beck; it's time to get to work."

Beck could feel something shaking him to wake up. Work? Who do I work for? Better question where can I get energy? He then remembered what had happened the past cycle. Some program had brought him to a car garage and got offered a job.

"Where am I?"

"My apartment Beck you know after you got the job here at the garage?" Bodhi slugged Beck playfully in the arm.

"That's still a bit fuzzy to me but I think I remember." Beck put this hand to his head trying to get a grip on what was happening.

"It's going to be like that for a few cycles and then you should start getting your mind around work, friends, and girls."

"Girls?! Really you just had to put them in there didn't you?"

"Yeah and? Anyway I have a surprise for you." Bodhi handed Beck a baton.

"What is it? A stick?" Beck looked at Bodhi with the most confused look on his face. Bodhi sat against the wall with a smile on his face as if it was the funniest thing in the world.

"It's a baton moron and you use it to get places like work, the club and the dick games arena."

"Oh." Beck's face went beat red as he looked down at the baton and sat in silence. Slowly Bodhi got up and walked out the bedroom door.

...Clu's Ship....

"Commander Pavel, how active has your RENEGADE been?" Pavel nearly jumped out of his code when Clu came up behind him.

"The renegade has had no activities at all this cycle."

"Fantastic, but keep an eye out for him, we can never be too careful. Especially, with him."
