If there is one thing I've learned out of my 15 years of living, it's to be nice to people. That's it. Just be kind.
Someone could be having the worst day, maybe fired from a job or their grandma just died. Those couple of seconds you take to say something kind to them could really make them feel better, even for a moment. Don't hesitate to tell that girl she looks really pretty today, and her dress looks amazing. Or help that old man across the street with his heavy bags. Little actions speak louder words.
And if you've had an awful day, wouldn't you want someone to sympathize for you, even for a minute just to make sure you were alright? And besides, why be mean and ruin someone's day when you can be kind and make their day instead? It honestly feels so great to be that optimistic and sympathetic person who would go to any length to help someone out.
