Katya threw herself onto her bed and groaned. She was so tired after her business trip. She swore her customers had never been this irritating or annoying before. Maybe they just got worse over time. That sucks. She rolled over on her bed and pushed her luggage off as she settled in and drifted off to sleep.

A few hours later Katya woke up to a loud banging. She realized it was her front door. She checked her clock, it was one in the afternoon. She wasn't really expecting people. She groaned as the banging continued. God this better be good. She got out of bed, fixed her hair, pulled on a tank top and some leggings then headed downstairs. As she opened the door the person on the other side knocked again and banged the door against her chest. Katya cursed as she held her hand to her chest and looked up at Daemon and another tall man.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" She said angrily. She was tired and cranky. She hadn't had anything to eat yet and they hit her nipple, which was pierced. Not the greatest feeling in the world.

"I'm sorry. I didn't realize the door was open." The man next to Daemon said. He was tall with brown eyes and short hair. Katya rolled her eyes at him and muffled another curse as her chest kept aching.

"Whatever man. Just be glad you didn't rip anything off or else you wouldn't still be standing. Now, what the fuck do you want? You do realize I'm tired and I haven't had anything to eat yet. Don't even let me mention all the assholes I have to put up with as my customers." Katya said and almost laughed at the mans bewildered face. He was probably still on the 'rip anything off' part. Figures.

"Rip what off?" The man asked as he turned to look at her chest and his eyes widened. He looked up at her in surprise and she slapped his face.

"Don't do that again without my permission! What? You think that because you want to you can just look at whatever? No! Ask first or at least be discreet about it! Asshole. Now, Daemon, please give me an explanation as to why you're on my front porch. Not that I didn't want to see you, but I'm still tired...and grumpy." she could see Daemon's lips twitching as he held back a smile. This wasn't funny!

"We were actually hoping to get your help with something." Daemon explained as he reached out to caress her cheek. Katy relaxed immediately and smiled warmly at him.

"With what, babe?" She asked softly.

"Can we come in and discuss it inside?" Katya nodded at him and opened the door wider. They walked in and headed onto the living room. Katya closed and locked her door before she followed them. Daemon sat in the loveseat while the other guy sat in the black arm chair. Katya sat on the sofa and crossed her legs under her. She noticed the buff guy staring at her tattooed leg and she smiled. It was a tattoo of a dragon. It was pretty big, it reached from her ankle to her calf. It was black envied with blue, green, and purple. It mouth was open and it was spewing red and blue flames.

"Like my baby?" She asked the guy. He looked up at her and smirked.

"Yes, what does it stand for?" He asked.

"Just something that happened in my life, something that's a part of me. I don't really like to talk about it though." The guy nodded in understanding.

"My name is Kyle Leven by the way."

"Katya Cotta." She smirked and turned to look at Daemon who had been sitting quietly and watching them. He smiled at her before he leaned forward and started speaking.

"A few months ago, when we were doing a perimeter check on our land, we saw a house burning in the no pack land that's between us and the Forest pack. Naturally we went to check it out." Katya nodded for hom to continue when Daemon stopped to look at her. "We found the remains of a couple that had been attacked and murdered by rogues. They put up one hell of a fight from what we could tell. We kept looking around and we...we came upon a little girl. She was hidden in the basement below the house with no way out. The house had burned and collapsed over the door that covered her hiding place. We took her out and brought her to the pack doctor right away. She was fine, no injuries, but she was malnourished. We have her a room and food, but she won't eat and she won't come out of her room. That day that I was with you and had to leave so abruptly, was because rogues came after her to finish her off as they put it. Kyle and some other members of my pack took care of them. We also found out that she's mage, not human." Katya stiffened when he said that and her eyes blazed with purple fire as she looked at him. So rogues were still looking for her people? She had known they wouldn't stop, but to take parents and family from a child was so unforgivable. No one should ever go through that.
