"Okay, so I still don't understand, how are you pregnant?" Clint asked, sitting next to the pregnant God. "I am able to reproduce because I am a god whom is able to shape shift, meaning I could change into anything." Loki spoke gently. He was now around four months of being pregnant. "So, show me how you shape shift." Clint said with enthusiasm. Loki shook his head. "I'm sorry Barton, but me taking the chance of shape shifting while carrying an unborn child is just too risky. I could easily hurt the child doing something as big as changing my appearance."
"So, can you still use your magic?" Clint asked. He was very interested in Loki carrying a child. "Of course," Loki smiled. Loki closed his eyes, concentrating deeply. He opened his eyes and they glowed a blue hue. Clint looked down at Loki's hands, they contained blue mist like swirls. The swirls danced in his hands, until he gently raised his hands slightly. The blue light disappeared and Loki's eyes turned back to their normal color. "Wow." Was all Clint could say.
Clint sat with Loki a little longer, talking about his magic, but soon got himself into mischief by teasing Thor. Loki laughed to himself as the two ran off.
He sighed. Loki placed a gentle hand on his baby bump. He wore a black tee shirt, it was warmer in late April.
He sighed once more, he wished Tony was enjoying these moments with him before they were to have a child and be a family. Loki struggled to get up, gripping the side of the couch, his swollen belly in the way. He walked toward the elevator.
"Are you in any need of assistance Master Loki?" J.A.R.V.I.S. asked. Loki smiled. "No thank you, J.A.R.V.I.S. I'd just like to go see my husband in his lab please." Loki said, carefully making his way down the few steps to Tony's lab. He held onto the banister, helping to keep his balance.
The metal laboratory door stood closed. Loki typed in the code on the keypad on the wall beside. The heavy door glided open quite easily. Loki stepped inside, the door slipping shut behind.
Tony's back was to the door. He stood at his desk, hunched over a project he was working on. "What are you doing?" Loki asked gently. Tony slightly jumped. "Oh... Uh just working on the latest updates to the Ironman suit. Tony showed Loki the blueprints. Loki sighed as Tony turned back to his work.
"You know..." Loki said awkwardly. "The baby should begin kicking very soon." Loki said. He placed a hand on his stomach. "Mhmm." Tony said barely paying any attention to Loki. Loki exhaled sadly.
He quietly sat next to Tony on a stool. Loki's eyes widened as he felt a fluttering feeling in his stomach. He placed his hand on his stomach, there is was again. "T... Tony.." That caught his husbands attention. "What's wrong, sunshine?" Tony asked frantically. "I... I think the baby just kicked for the first time." Loki whispered. Tony slipped his hand under Loki's shirt, feeling the movement of the unborn child inside Loki. A smile spread across Tony's lips.
---
Tony came out of the humid bathroom, his hair dripping. He walked out with a towel, and proceeded to dry his hair. He took a quick glance at the orange and pink sunset across Manhattan. The buildings' lights were beginning to turn on, and the buildings themselves looked like shadows in the last few minutes of light.
Tony looked over at Loki, who sat under the silk sheets reading from an Asgardian novel he brought back to Midgard. "Lovely night." Loki said quietly, not looking up from the word jumbled pages. Tony nodded. "Yeah."
Tony sat on the bed, putting on a red shirt with his arc reactor glowing a blue hue. "What do you think the child will be like?" Loki asked curiously. Tony though for a second. "I don't know..." He said. "But I do know that he's going to be amazing." Tony placed a hand on Loki's stomach. Loki gave a sympathetic smile. Loki gave Tony a kiss on the lips, and tony returned it.
Both men lay down, the lights off. The sky slightly lit the room with its last few rays of the day. "What do you want to name the baby?" Tony asked, his hands laying above his head. Loki lay against Tony's chest, his hand was placed on the arc reactor. Loki hummed. "I don't know." He said just above a whisper. Loki's gentle fingers traced the arc reactor that was settled in Tony's chest.
Tony's arm was around Loki, and he was playing with his long hair as he stare blankly out the window at the city. Loki slept soundly, his slow inhale and exhale. Tony sighed, he was happy. He had a loving husband and a child on the way, there was nothing more he could ask for.
